I want to change out my old chrome bumper to match an indigo blue bumper.

Anyone have an idea where I can get an OEM?

Also, which model/year came with those stock?

Oh man, that looks legit! The price is cool too! Did you have any aftermarket install gaps or issues? Good looking on the link too. I’ll definitely take a look:thumbsup:

yeah I thought about doing that and talked to a paint shop about it. They said taking chrome off then painting will be more difficult and costly (if you want it done right) but might not look right. They have to sandblast the chrome and said it comes out kinda weird.

Nah they don't have to sandblast. I painted mine myself. Very low grit, like 320, ensure you scuff the hell out of it then work up to 1000.

The trick is using self etching primer as it is now bare metal. I did about 3 base coats and two thick clear coats with spraymax 2k clear.

Cost was $120 for materials and a few hours. Also cut in some spots for bumper lights.

You need to use high quality paint first and foremost. Automotive touch up.com sells matched painted. I believe it is a latex enamel and not an acrylic enamel like your typical spray cans. The base coat may be a touch cloudy after drying but the spraymax brings back the luminosity quite well. You could have an average paint job and the clear will really gloss it over.

2 part clear always saves the day. I think you will be highly impressed with it. Only allow the base coats to flash dry to an hour and then spray the clear.

Allow primer to flash dry 15min. I don't sand in between coats. I didn't even wetsand the bumper after completion so it could be alot glossier.

The bumper is the same regardless of bed length.

Yes bumper is the same from 05-15. Fitment is perfect, no gap issues.
