..I lost mine in February and it still hurts.

 

I am still working with mine on this. I'm going to have to get a different leash and try to train him a bit more cause he pounces towards cats on walks and our cat. He will learn. Plus he almost yanks my arms off or has pulled me down if I'm not paying attention....

 

Silly cat, follows me to every room...she is so cuddly. Jumped up on the chair and laid her head on my shoulder. Couldn't move for like 30 minutes... lol

They need to learn how to share
Smokey invites himself onto Poppy's bed all the time, but he does at least leave her room to get on there with him.

 

Ginger has been showing signs of progression so we took her in for one last vet check on Wednesday. She now has a second mass on her lung and some fluid is building back up. We chose not to take any action - not that there's much we could do anyway. The vet thinks that other than being tired she is not uncomfortable. We increased her steroids a bit and are watching for signs of pain or discomfort. She's okay now, but it probably won't be much longer before we have to let her go. The boys seem to know what's going on and have all of a sudden started staying very close to her. It's like they are standing guard. Ginger seems comforted by this.

 

Care tag: Wash on gentle cycle, cold water, no bleach. Tumble dry low.

 

Thats all they will understand, quality of life, not quantity. Make her as comfortable as possible while she's here. Absolutely spoil her.

 

I can only hope someday they'll enjoy laying next to each other. Right now, she just tolerates him but he's not her favorite in the house lets say...

Gotcha.
Smokey was a 'feral' (my vote is he was a panicky escaped housecat) so they kept him with the dogs. He was there for several months, and apparently found it easier to bond with dogs after that. He LOVED our old dog, and bonded with Poppy pretty quickly. On the flip side, he is 'polite' to our other cat but isn't super friendly with her.

 

I think she would like the dog more if he wasn't all up in her face all the time... if he ever calms down she may like him more but only time will tell. It's only been a couple months maybe...

 

Geez I sure hate these scenarios. Been there so many times yet we keep replacing the ones we’ve loved and lost knowing eventually we will loose another. I hope she gets spoiled rotten and you stay strong for her. I think they can pick up on when we’re in distress and that’s the last thing she needs right now. You guys are definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

 

Absolutely spoiling her. She just had a big plate of tuna!
