Well...it's entirely coincidental that the federal govt guidelines for when to get tested basically now exclude anyone at a school that has a positive case...If you're not supposed to get tested if you're exposure doesn't include YOU having symptoms then they'll be no testing of kids because they very rarely have symptoms...Looks like that solved it

 

Poor ABT...all these new tests and nobody qualifying for them...

 

So dangerous, you have to get tested to know you have it. At what point are we just going to say screw it, and act like it doesn't exist? I have been doing that the entire time, when is the rest of the U.S. getting on board with me?!

 

The only concern is all the asymptomatic cases spreading to Gam Gam where it is a danger. But I agree, to a (large) extent. Winter will get interesting with snow birds, that's for sure. Grim thought: Wonder how many snow birds will decide not to go to Florida/etc because of the 'rona, but will not survive the cold winter if they stay north instead. I'm a jerk sometimes, but these are the weird things to consider about all this jazz.

 

A few weeks ago a a really good friend of mine got it. He's 45 and healthy. He was feeling a little crappy and described it as feeling like he had a mild flu. I had just seen him about 5 days before he tested positive.

I let my wife know and asked if she wanted me to get a test. She said not unless I felt like I needed to. What she said next surprised me. She said: "Want to invite Bill over and just get this shit iver with?". Smart women I married.

 

I don't wear a mask unless required, don't wash hands, no gloves. I want to get it for the same reason. Probably already had it.

Guys. I am not one to brag, etc etc. And it's nerdy, and showboating. BUT. I hit a milestone today. Between my boring and retirement etc, I have earned 10k. 10K that I wasn't paid, that is now in my possession. (well. Our.) I know it's not a lot for some of you guys who do that in a month, but, for me, that's a big day.

editted: Yeah, so see that spike and dive that VTI did? That's what put me juuuust above 10k and now I'm back below. BUT that's okay. I saw 10k, it's within reach. Still happy.

I give it a few months before we see moms organizing get togethers like they do for chicken pox. If not them already happening.

I wear my mask when I'm out and about and I'll be honest....gas pump handles have always given me the jeebies but now I have hand sanitizer in the truck, should have been doing that one for a long while. But, yeah.

I am WFH this week, last week we had a potential exposure case and I was really not happy with how it was handled. This week we're up to 5. In our plant. Fortunately the ones I was on site for have tested negative, but we're at 9.2 new cases per 100k in our entire state. Then 5 in just my plant of about 120 people. yeah I'll WFH this week and reassess this weekend. Gave me the jeebies again seeing those numbers.



@TreeFortRichard ZOM doing decent today! I'm still red overall but a lot less than I was yesterday.

 

I have been doing it this way my whole life. I'm not a dirt bag, I shower daily, but my immune system is doing a great job considering I almost never get sick. Don't wash hands to build up immunity has always been my way to handle germs. Dirty gas pumps are an excellent source of building immunity to disgusting things!
