I do not know what it is like at other dealerships, but I showed up to my 7 A.M appointment to get my 15k mile service, and they were like "Well our technicians don't show up until 7:30 A.M."

I was like "then why am I even here?"

sorry, I'm kind of having a shitty

I personally find it strange how my dealer lets me schedule an appointment a month in advance, then they throw my car in the queue just the same as if it were a walk in. Its a 90 minute ordeal no matter what. :annoyed:

You show up at seven, and go through the intake process. Now it's seven thirty before the vehicle is in the bay and the tech starts to work. Otherwise the tech stands around for a half hour before he starts work.

Ever notice they don't call them mechanics anymore? Know why? Because they can't trouble shoot without a computer, and can't really fix anything. They should just call them parts changers. No real skill or intelligence required.

I have had the same bad experience with waiting on dealership service at multiple dealerships. Once after waiting 1.5 hours I went to ask how much longer and they said they thought I was leaving it and had not even started. Spent 3 hours waiting for oil change and rotation. I just leave it now. Not worth waiting.

I once asked one of the Techs at the Victorville Valley hi Toyota why it would take 90 minutes to bring the truck in and service it even with an appointment and He said Honestly it doesn’t really matter if you have an appointment. It was more of a first come first serve.
Cool dude for being straight up aha now I know to show up early and beat all the people with appointments.

I purchased my truck already lifted. They asked me to bring it back in for the suspension lift tune and checkup at 1000 miles. I scheduled it on a Sat and when I went in they said, “our lift and suspension guy does not work weekends.” Lol

They truly don't give a shit because people will keep coming for some reason. I guess since they think it's free for 2 years. It only took 2 of those free visits for me to decide to just do it myself. My wife's new rav4 won't ever go to the dealership if I can avoid it, and my truck won't go back.

Man I feel like I've gotten lucky with dealers.

The Nissan dealer I dealt with in Lubbock was amazing. Bring it in at 8, reliably done same day or shortly thereafter. And they'd give me a ride home so I didn't have to wait around.

The nissan dealer Houston said 'yeah your fuel sender is broken, and would have been a warranty item, but its out of warranty. We'll fix it anyway, today."

I show up as early as I can, and make sure to tell them that I am waiting in the waiting room...have no other form of transportation etc...even If I am leaving it for the day..... The will totally put it at the end of the line if you tell them you are leaving.....

Recently got my last free service on my '16 (certified pre-owned) and got their earliest appointment at 6am. I showed up about 10 minutes early and there was already a line. They said 1.5hrs, ended up taking 2! And I supposedly had the earliest appt. The dealership I go to doesn't recommend walk ins. This was my third attempt getting in. The first two I tried showing up early without an appt and they told me 4 hours...

Looking forward to servicing it myself now. I just wanted to take advantage of the "freebies"

The same thing happened to me. So I made an appointment at 8 and had to wait 20 min just to see an advisor and they said oil change tire rotation and inspection would be 5 hours. I haven’t been back since. The time that really made me mad was when I waited 3 hours for a tire rotation and I had an appointment. Never again.

We are open at 7 and our techs get in at 8.
7 is for the people dropping off and getting a loaner.

Every time I schedule an appointment with Wills Toyota in Twin falls they get me right in and get it taken care of quickly. Never had a problem. Except the time the tech locked the keys in the truck. Lol

Sorry for you all that are having issues when you have appointments but I havnt had that experience at my local dealership and if I have something else planned I will just drop it off and have another ride home or use the free shuttle. I would never go there on Saturday just because they only work half a day on Saturday.

At my store, we tell our customers that the appointment time is an appointment to meet with the service writer. It's not an appointment time for the technician to work on the vehicle.
