I understand that, which reiterate reinforces my view that he'd only be paying for the name with a pro.

Are you unaware of the stock Fox suspension on the Pro? You keep citing the fake hood scoop and name as the only difference. Kind of bizarre, considering the suspension is exactly the stated reason OP is considering the Pro.

Sport owner here, I bought the truck most aligned with what I actually do on a daily basis. I drive my truck to work, on paved roads. Sport suspension is awesome and well suited to the street. I do go on rough roads and forest roads but only a dozen times a year or less, so I got some all terrain tires to help with that, while still behaving on the paved roads. It's all about getting what *best* fits your needs. If I was crawling and mudding every weekend, or taking multi-week off road expedition trips, sure a pro or OR is a much better choice. But I'm not going to lie to myself to justify having all these off-road features that I never use, that is a poser move in my mind. I'm just being honest with what I do and need.

Typically, when considering resale value, buying the car/truck at the higher trim level is more economical than buying the lesser model and paying for options & add-ons.

    See?

You're literally sitting here arguing about my opinion, which I've already given and given my reasons for. OP asked for people to give their view and I've given mine.

That you excepted the primary reason OP was interested in the Pro? Yeah, we all saw that.

Well according to TW, 3re gens suck in general. The engine is shit, especially the 3.5. Transmission? Well you know the answer. Mpgs are horrible. The suspension in all trims is garbage and needs to be replaced asap. The leaf springs? Weak as fk. The bed needs stiffeners so it doesnt break apart and the interior plastic is absolute shit. Towing? Cant tow fuck all, since it stays at 5k rpm all the time apperantly. The paint is peeling all over the place and the rear bumper is misaligned.

I could go on and on, but unfortunately i have to do some work.

Yes, and I explained that the OR is basically the same vehicle except for suspension and a couple of cosmetics which are largely available on the OR as well. You can easily save the premium you'd pay for the pro and get a suspension that is better than the pro if you do it right. Especially if you are considering the Sport as your alternative. I don't know how much more clear I can be. That's my view on the subject.

There's an $11,000 difference between the starting price of the Sport and Pro. There's about a $9,000 difference between the starting price of the OR and the Pro. You can make a pretty badass rig for that kind of money.

This is tacoma world sir...you DON'T CARE ABOUT OFF ROADING?! What are you, a psychopath?!

Also I think its quite funny I forgot about the limited trim. Just goes to show you what I think of that trim model lol. At least for the 2019's you could literally get every single option in the OR as the limited, but with the OR perks. I think the only thing was that the limited had the brown leather but IMO looks pretty bad with the rest of the truck since they do nothing else to make it match...just jammed some brown leather seats in there.

    Like, so many.
The Sport and OR are both great trucks. I've actually had both in the 3rd gens. The biggest day to day difference is the suspensions. Sport is stiffer, OR more pliant. You can off road a Sport (just like you can off road an SR or SR5), but there's a noticeable difference. Personally, I think the hood scoop is cool. In case you're curious, insurance companies value the hoods the same. I've always thought the Sport should come with some additional options that the OR doesn't have. Functional hood scoop, CAI, dual exhaust, just something. Because the OR really does come with more "stuff" for the same amount of money. For OP, I think the Sport is a better fit than the Pro. But if money isn't a concern...

Well, you should work for Toyota as an engineer, save the world and become a Taco hero. One of your problems is the paint? You can start by painting your truck with plasti dip since you love it that much and do a reveal presentation for Toyota, don't forget to dress to impress. Let us know how that goes!

The price difference between a fully loaded OR and a Pro is $2175

    And you still don't get:
    - TRD Exhaust
    - FOX suspension
    - Better wheels
    - Exclusive leather trim
    - Auto-dimming Rear-view mirror with Homelink
(I'm probably leaving out a few other things, but that's most of the big ones)

And in the resale market, the OR will priced right around other ORs that didn't add-on $6450 worth of options.

A TRD Pro will be worth many thousands of dollars more.

And now we're looping back to where you're completely ignoring OP's intent. I really suggest reading Post #1 on this thread.

Also, pro tip; if you're going to compare trim level price points, you should include configuration similarities. You'll see the Sport and OR are the same price, and the pro is only 2-4k more MSRP.

    Good day.
