I just got the clear one's off ebay,,,,,Like the way they look when they are off during the day or when on at night. But during the day when the sun is bright they do look to pink, if you have them on. So I am returning them, Might go with the solid red lens shown on here......

I've been running the DTMoto (they're all the same just rebadged) tails for over 2 years. I did seal them along the bead with clear silicone before installation.

Sealing aftermarket lights with RTV is the most important thing to remember especially if you live in a place where it is actually humid. Had mine unsealed for years, then traveled to Missouri and they all fogged up within hours lol.

Exactly why I swapped them out. Oem reminded me of the early 2000s and Wings West body kits.

Couldn't agree with you more on that. Especially since it takes a whole 5 minutes to run a bead around at the seam.

I have the black housing version and they are garbage. Dust has made its way into the white tube taillight and the resistors have broken off so I have a hyper blink. First was the drivers side and now it is he passenger side also. But I do run my truck off road so I am sure it is from the vibrations and bouncing around inside the case. The resistors are not supported for shit inside there. I have the VIP Tuning version if there is really any difference. I found a set of what looked like quality replacements and then covid hit and they went unavailable. As soon as they come back I am going to snag them. Or another good looking set come available that is not $150. I know I got what I paid for. My next set will be more money or go back to factory.

Just got these taillights from eBay seller dt_moto. On my 2015 OffRoad the LED functionality works but the top ceramic plug doesn't fit into the housing. I can't recall where but in one of these threads someone said there are two different OEM taillight harnesses and I think I have the one that doesn't fit.

Three questions for anyone that can help:

    1. Did any of you have to modify the top plug hole on the new lights to fit the socket/connector? I can probably Dremel it out but seems silly for a brand new part.
    2. Can someone do me a big favor and take a photo of your top (amber / turn signal) light socket? I.e. the grey part that lights plug into?
    3. How did you all secure the tail light pigtail / main harness connector plug? On the OE lights there is a spot to secure it, on the Spyders there is not.

    Some photos for reference:

Side-by-side of the Spyder ALT-ON-TT05-LBLED-RC and OEM lights:

Side-by-side of the back of the lights. Notice on the Spyder the big open space and nowhere to secure the wiring harness like OEM. I'll probably use double-side tape or something like that if I can get sockets to fit.

Light socket for the top (amber / turn signal) bulb on the pigtail harness. Shape doesn't fit into the Spyder housing.

Coming back to confirm that the Toyota 81555-04150 "non-LED" tail light harness solved my issues and allowed me to install the Spyder units. Here is a comparison of the harness plugs - OEM "LED" variant on the left, "Non-LED" 04150 variant on the right.

Finished product, these look so damn good. Honestly should have come like this from the factory.

When you guys talk about running a bead of clear rtv, do you just run it around that seam where the black housing meets the lense?

Not knocking these at all as I think they look great, but they do remind me of the 10th gen Ford F150 (97-04).

Thanks for posting the info and part number on this for the wiring harness. Question: Do I need to order 2 wiring harnesses (one for each side) or does that part number come with 2? Thanks!

    Two things:
    1. I can't say for sure what you will or won't need for those specific lights because I don't have them.
    2. No matter what taillights you use, only one harness is needed for each side.
Basically your stock pigtail harness will either work fine and you won't have to buy anything else, or your existing pigtail harness will be the wrong version and you need to buy the alternate one. More info/photos here on my build thread, hopefully that makes more sense:
