Up next: roof/bed rack + dry storage, skids, bumpers, fiberglass, power wire upgrade + frame grounds, LTO battery swap, air compressor, on board pressurized water, powered cooler, suspension seats, frame reinforcement, solid motor/trans mounts.
So I’m guessing everyone is just threading the end lights into the plastic with no end bolt? Sorry if this has already been discussed.

For the cyclones, anyone use other colors in their brake lights like green, blue or amber instead of the white cargo lights?

For a 2020, @MESO ’s kit is plug and play. In the early days the connector from the cab wasn’t an easy match, so some folks ‘did their own thing’ to get it connected.

I used amber in place of the white. My reds have cracked lenses and some of the led's have stopped working but the ambers have been completely fine.

Bought a @MESO BD5 third brake light setup, but need some advice on how to snake the individual rock light wiring through the MESO brake light housing... am I an idiot or is it just as tricky as it seems?

i saw a set of tails similar to this running around today. clear lens, horshoe clear, the light is red though. looked good. are these custom or is there a vendor selling something similar? i was thinking these are actually sr5/trd housing and pro/limited lenses.

@Tacospike: yeah, thats what i was thinking. trd housing (the one with the black bezels instead of chrome), with the clear lens and meso v1 ultimate tail light setup would be a killer combo.

is this a trick question? I’m going with idiot....:)
Simply push it through and pull it out the other end. Maybe MESO has changed the hole size, or BD have changed the Insulation/ cable thickness, but it was super simple for me. Now I’m not that fond of the orientation of the holes and bit fiddey seating / removing the light due to that, but I’ve done it a few times and no cable / joint has broken or water leaked through the holes. So can’t complain, it works and it seals. Can’t ask for more than that.

Picked up a KC Gen 2 set up recently. Getting ready for the install. I went with a 2 red (TL) and 2 amber, which I want to wire to an independent switch. Has anyone already completed this set up and would like to share their set do's and don'ts, or the wiring path?

mine are connected with separate power and earth, I just run the lines on the passenger side as I wanted to keep them away from any interference to the OEM wiring which is drivers side. Earth because I really don’t think the stock earth is up to the task of these lights, (it’s about 24g). and power to the bed lights so they can be turned on with either bed or reverse lights. But in your case that would be a separate switch. It’ll take more time to remove the trim that it will installing the wire, and once you have the trim off there really is only a few options for how / where you can run the wire.

Removed and painted my Meso Kc 5 housing to go with my gloss black wrapped roof. Hoping it holds up against the elements!

I’m scared to mess with the 3rd brake light after I had to get my headliner replaced after the horrid leak. At least they fixed it past my warranty.
    Those are so bad ass.

    Rollin' hydrocarbons!
Odd that this thread should be awakened. Mine has been sitting around for quite a while. I had just decided I didn't want to mess with the interference issues. But this weekend I pulled my headliner down and decided to possibly do this while I'm in there.

As far as the interference issue: It's caused by the cargo light coming on with the walk-up feature? Some folks' solution was just to turn it off. Say I was to leave it on, what was the final fix? I followed this thread around that time and wanted to get all of this straight. At least one person ran a separate ground to a bolt in the c-pillar. Was that determined to work? And I remember one person running new wiring and a relay for the cargo light. Was that the final fix?
