So I had my oil changed at my local Toyota Dealer yesterday, and they always do their little however many point inspection and give you the report card. All was good for my truck and when going over it with me the advisor (not tech) asked if I had an aftermarket battery because I had "really, really high cold cranking amps." I understand CCA when tested is some sort of estimate, but an OEM brand new Toyota battery is rated as 830 per their docs. My battery was showing 1157. Yes, I have an aftermarket battery. Optima Yellow Top, group 27. Anyone else seen numbers like that?

CCA of batteries are different, you can even get various CCA within a specified battery group . Look at the top of your optima and itll show you what its rated at

Curious to hear who everyone recommends/ trusts to align their truck. Don’t want to use someone who just follows the computer screen and can’t properly torque the cam tabs. Is it just waiting the few weeks to get into Mule? Preferred local-ish to Puyallup But also willing to drive a bit for good service.

Ask for Tom at Best Tire in Parkland. He was willing to work with me and my SPC uppers and has since learned how to actually set the lca’s and upper ball joints to where most of us need them for larger tires and clearance. When I was last in, he thanked me for teaching him and said he has been doing a lot of Toyota work since.

Any good trails or FS roads that get you out into the woods near Ashford? Wife and I will be staying at a friends cabin for a few days. I’m finding a little info about Elbe Hills, but hard to tell how difficult those trails are.

Elbe has a gate keeper, if you can’t make past it don’t play there. If I remember correctly there’s a back way in where you can bypass the gate.

Full disclaimer - I didn't create this thread originally, I just assumed responsibility after the OP (@YFZ450MOE) said he was no longer active on TW. But - I'll raise my beer to y'all for still being alive 36 years on this rock!
