Why not just send a PM? The OP has put alot of work into these and im very happy that they put extra work into making sure the manual transmission croud could get into this as well.. just saying

Plus its very hard to find some awesome 2nd gen love anymore! Can't wait to get mine and support a small business (especially on TW)!

Doing a comparison on products In Your Own Thread is fine, and asking the public questions is fine. But laying out your comparison here, in this guys thread who is offering a product he is making on the side of his ft job, like a pre emptive review... is fucking douchey.

I had the same thought and struggled with whether to respond. I probably shouldn't have. :anonymous:

On a more positive note, I look foward to installing the charger I bought from OP.

I’m not trying to be ‘that guy’ here. However... The feeling I’ve gotten from Jordan (OP) all along is that this is a bit of a passion project, something fun to do AND he can be proud to offer his services to this community.

So why shit in his Cheerios?

So again today mine doesn't charge. Kind of a pain in the ass to have to troubleshoot everyday. After about 15 minutes into the drive it starts charging. I have the other version on the way so I'll see how both work.

Completed my install today. The kit is nicely done. The bezel looks like part of the truck, not an add on. The charger is a quality piece. The problem is the taps. The taps are not a quality connector. I was checking the power/charge as I was reassembling the console and it would intermittently cut on and off as I was working in the area of the connectors. When off, I would jiggle the connectors and the power when come on. I would suggest to anyone buying this kit, to purchase better taps or connectors.

Also, installation is a major pain in the butt. I had to disassemble the entire center console from head unit down to console between the seats. The 12V outlet wiring harness is impossible to get to without removing the H/U bezel, reaching inside to disconnect the outlet and gently pulling the connector for enough slack to attach the taps. Routing the power wire down to the charger cannot be down without removing the console from the shifter back. Once the entire console is removed, the wire can be snaked down to the charger.

I would recommend this charger/bezel kit but take heed to the tips you find in this thread.

The 12v sockets pop right out and the harness is right there. From that point I taped the charger connector to a metal coat hanger and just went through the socket hole. It came right out the back side I tucked it under the console made the hole as described and viola. Didn't remove one thing.

My socket wouldn't pop out. I think there are ears that need to be depressed from behind the panel or inside the socket.

Update for today. I drove about an hour and 45 minutes home today from York Beach Maine. The whole time the charger was blue, turned blue instantly. Phone lit up as soon as I put it on, the whole way home it didn't charge one bit. Put it on at 7% got home and it was 7%. Not sure what's up but the phone was very hot to the touch and didn't charge.
