I bet that generax barely sips fuel.
My gen box on utility trailer also floats.
The generax tent top is a nice touch.

Definitely, and I'm not bushhogging or dealing with heavy overgrowth. One upgrade to the lawnmower that I found to be a difference maker was the high lift blade.

Strongly worded PM in-bound. @OneGiraffe you will be copied on it for your records.

So we're going to install a dedicated backup generator for the house either this year or next, and one of the options is a Generac. What is your impression of them? I understand that a standalone permanently installed generator is different than a portable one, but still.

Definitely. People abuse the crap out of them though. Typically they shut off before overheating but people think that's an issue.

Oh, and in other news, I will be stepping away from being the tech. That is all

    I recommend them.
Solid runner for sure. Fire it up once a month. We wanted a standby (Generac) but HOA covenants required the propane tanks to be buried which kicked the cost way up over $10k. So this was our best choice. And it runs everything including both A/C’s at the same time. But it’s a heavy loud mofo! Standby is the way to go for sure. Expect to pay a grand or two for the electrical mods.

It’s a 1000cc V-twin so it doesn’t really sip gas! At least a gallon an hour. We have a very flammable 35 gallon gas caddy, 2 14 gallon roll-arounds, and the genny has a 16 gallon tank so if we don’t burn, we’re good for a few days!

That Intec V twin is a good engine but loud and thirsty. I had a Gen on 3 point hitch PTO powered by Kubota Tractor getting 4 hr per gal 4800 watts. Untill my neighbor plugged in and overloaded it while I was out.

Ignorance was a factor but not malice.
    They did pay for damage.
