I think a lot of people run those quick drain valves on many vehicles. I never have personally. I've heard the only real drawback is the oil will drain a bit slowly with the smaller opening. And there is the very very small chance of it accidentally being opened somehow.

    Yes
Personally, I've never heard of the Stahlbus brand oil drain valve, but I can attest to the Fumoto valve. I installed mine on my first oil change in 2012 at 5k miles and I've had it installed ever since. Doesn't drip (knock on wood) and I don't need tools to do an oil change. Yes, it does take a bit longer to drain the oil because of the smaller orifice but I crack the 710 cap and open the valve. While that's doing its thing, I change the filter and hit the grease fittings on the drive shaft. Once I'm all cleaned up from that, the drain valve is dripping about once every 30 seconds or so which is good enough for me. Close it back up, put the retaining clip back on. 5 qts in the tank. Run the motor for a bit. Top 1 more qt in the tank. Put her to bed and have a frosty one. Easy money.

I installed one of these about 20,000K ago? when I installed a new lower oil pan.

Why, well after 300,000K or so, I had to start using Teflon pipe tape on the threads of the oil drain plug otherwise it would start to slowly back out between oil changes (every 10,000K) Didn't matter if I used a new drain plug or the original OEM. I could have just used a new, typ. type drain plug with the new oil pan but didn't want to deal with the threads in the pan getting literally worn out again. I drive a lot and don't have a plan yet to replace the truck yet.
    446,000K as of today

Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for the trans drain bolt to be mistaken for the oil drain plug on a 4.0. Adding a fumoto oil drain valve would eliminate that confusion.

Somewhat agreed but we have seen quite a few posts on this. Although, they are not likely to make that costly mistake again.

Agreed. Its a pretty rare truck arrangement with the transmission in front of the engine.

Only brand I would personally get if I was looking at one of these.

Also, I have this (likely unjustified) fear that I would shear that valve off. Somehow, someday. Pretty much the only reason I don't have one. Other than getting a little oil on my hand and tools I don't have much of an issue with a clean oil change, personally.

Another vote for Fumoto. I don't disagree with those that fear sheering it off, or it somehow opening while you're driving etc, however, I couldn't find a single instance of someone reporting that horror story. I went that route not because having to use a wrench was too much trouble, but because work has moved me around quite a bit, sometimes I find myself living in an apt...I'm tired of ditching/replacing dirty oil pans and I like having a setup where I could literally change my oil on the road. Not that I want to, but I'll take that over some random oil change place. Again, my situation is less common, just speaking to the incentives of the Fumoto that have nothing to do with having an aversion to tools.
