11" 5125s were way to long for my original under bed shock relocation so i have to mount them outside the frame. went from 255 to 170 valving and its much better riding now

 

Someone needs to try this without spacers. Curious to know if they rub with a smaller diameter shock.

 

That's about as small of a diameter shock as you'd want to run.


And it'll rub.

While I realize axel wrap is the nature of a leaf spring vehicle curious to know if everyone with softer springs like J59s experiences it like I do. I still get some stop and go thud sometimes. And a very noticeable THUD when WOT to letting off the gas completely sometimes. I’ve been considering installing OEM bushings in the front eyes to see if that helps dampen some of the load.

Also have a ruff stuff traction bar kit I planned on installing but can’t muster the motivation for a project. And I was told that I’d hate the ride with it. Guess I’ll pass on that.

 

Mine leans on the passenger side. Turns out I had the wrong shocks. Driver side is almost 2” shorter than passenger side.

 

They are side specific. I changed mine once and got 2 driver side shocks. They are 2” shorter than passenger side

 

2" spacers and slightly less bs wheels and it still rubs (35x12.5 tires). the hoop is up against the bed as far as it can go so im not sure how people put 2.5 bodies in there.

 

Mud flap bracket?? Pssshhh

I was looking at my uca and I notice if I put a larger tire on with my stock rims it may come into contact with the arm. I have a free set of rims off a 2019 4 Runner 20” I was thinking of putting on or even training someone for a rim that I like.
any thoughts?
