I'd love to have the ability to do about .5 mph slower in 1st low coming off rocks. It'd be great.

Love the adaptive cruise control on my taco. I have it at the "closest" setting and it actually adjusts the speed pretty good. It does not turn off after a gear change, which is a really cool feature.

I actually like how its geared. Way lower than my ranger's mazda tranny. Reverse sucks but there is a 2wd low mod for that.

Honestly, I think the hate this got was largely due to a programming issue.

They are ok with manuals i guess. From my experience, they were not bad.

Manuals are okay. I’ve had manuals in both a Focus and a Mustang and they were good.
But the auto in my F150 wasn’t.

Ours is low, but for that specific purpose it'd be great if it was just a tick lower.

Nothing I'd really complain about and easily fixed by regearing.

Dont get me started on ford's auto transmissions.

People at TW never experienced ford trannys , thats why they bitch about the AISIN AC60.

From what i read, the earlier calibrations were not great. But there are plenty of folks with 2016 that are perfectly happy. 3rd gen tacomas seem to be pretty incosistent.

I did drive my buddies 2019 AT and it was smooth and quick to shift if needed. I was expecting it to drive like shit because of all the complaints on here, but it was perfectly fine to me.

Awhile back I rented an F150 with AT for a weekend, holy shit it was like a rollercoaster, and the gas pedal felt like stepping on a loaf of bread. Nothing seemed to work together.

I have a 2017 and like it. I don't think it has been updated either. But then again I came from a 4 speed to this.

With a traditional cruise you would have to switch it off when behind a slower vehicle and turn it back on after you pass and get to the speed you want. With adaptive cruise truck slows down for you, switch it off and pass, turn it back on when you’re at the speed you want, avoids that sudden max acceleration that way. Love the adaptive cruise and work it the way I just said.

Dude you are absolutely correct. I drive around 500+ miles a week on my work truck, an f150 10 speed auto V8 and it's just brutal. Between the bullish upshifts and God awful engine cutoff at stoplights the thing rides like absolute ass. I mean why is the tranny trying to run in 8th gear at 35 mph? The taco is butter fucking smooth in comparison.

Mine did not shift smoothly, always hunted gears, and always delayed shifts way too long. So thats what gives.

Glad you are happy with yours!

Have you used the 2nd Gen cruise control? Go up any slight incline, like an overpass, and it drops 5mph below your setting. Then it FLOORS it to where you're almost doing 10 over your setting and yeets you over the crest and keeps accelerating before it finally calms tf down.
Which is super fun when cops camp out at the bottom of these overpasses.

3rd Gen CC is a dream.
