I made a custom set for @Kidwidataco who had a platform. The platform was about 6” from the bed rail.

just wanna post up for the OP. I had him make me some brackets for my maxtrax instead of the hi-lift. fits up great. source some plastic spacers on my own, 1.5" nylon.
