Constant power usb port

I just got my Tacoma a month ago. One thing I find is something that I need to change is the usb charging. I have a work cell phone I like to keep in my vehicle when I'm not working and constant power is good for charging phones, cameras and speakers when camping. My old Jeep had a 12v power outlet in the dash and one in the cargo area, both were always on and I'm spoiled. The Tacoma has 3 usb ports and 12v outlet but all of them only powered in accessory or with the engine running.

What I have in mind is a 2 port usbcusb in the dash under the climate control. There are extra spaces there. I'm just not sure what size to look for. I'd like QC 3.0 charging if I can find one that fits. I don't know where the easiest place to get power for that is.
Has anyone else done this before mind sharing some info?

 

Why not just change the USB ports you have to constant power and use them instead of adding new ones??

The only one in the dash is the one that goes to the radio also for media and Android auto/apple car play I am not sure I can mess with that one.
The two inside the center console that might be possible to do. Those are slow but it would be better nothing.

 

On the 2nd gen trucks its an easy job to pull the 12V outlet relay out, pop it open, and jam a plastic ziptie in the to keep the contacts closed. Result is always on 12V outlets regardless of the key.

Not sure where that relay would be in the 3rd gens, but Id bet someone has done it before. Also not sure about the factory USB ports, those may come from the head unit power supply, or somewhere else limiting.

Should fit in one of the blank spaces under the climate controls. That area is easy to get to in the 3rd gen. I'd just need to figure out where to get power.

 

You can get power one of two ways. First you can just tap off the cig lighter since it would be right there but then you only have power when the truck is on. Second would be to run it and hard wire it to the battery so you can have power anytime. I did the hardwire run for mine and have two of these set up, one is on the driver side with a voltmeter and then i have another in place of the qi charger since I dont have wireless charging and the qi charger in the truck sucks.

 

I have the charger but haven't gotten to install it yet. I was going to use my multi meter to locate a circuit that's on with the ignition off and hook it up with an add a fuse. I will be adding amp wires so I could do a pull to the battery with that also.
I don't really care about wireless charging, my SR5 don't have it either and I figured it would be slow too. I'm glad that I didn't pay extra to get that feature.
My phone is a OnePlus and doesn't have wireless charging. My work phone is an old iPhone 7 so it doesn't wireless charge either. I just want the iPhone or any small item I take camping to charge with out the key on.
I may set it up on a Switch too so I can turn it off if I'm going to park with out driving for days.
