Air conditioner noise

does anybody else’s air conditioner compressor make a loud noise when you first turn it on? Is it normal? It goes away right after.

 

My compressor is pretty loud most of the time. I initially worried about it when I first got the truck but it’s been doing the same thing for a decade now with no issues.

 

My 05’ made a “grinding” sound when you first turned it on.
The longer it set “for days” the worse the sound.
It only did it the first time you turned it on for the day.
That truck was a 2.7 PreRunner

Had it 5 years, nothing ever happened.

My current truck doesn’t make any noise.
Hopefully it never does

 

My 2013 makes noise when I first turn it on. Almost 100,000 miles so far

 

Thx for the replies, I guess this is normal. I’ve had my 2014 for 3yrs now.

 

It’s normal my 2017 4Runner does it too. It is the A/C clutch engaging
