Mkay that sounds more appropriate.. it shouldn't be too much effort to change bumpstops after a spring install.

I figured the best course of action was to get the complete OME kit that specs new rear shocks with the springs.. i don't care about height as much as I care about part longevity.. thought the aussies know whats up and get their shocks with their springs

Their Dakar springs are decent, they don't hold a lot of weight but they ride comfortably enough. Their shocks are eh, all accounts of them are riding harsh but controlled. It's up to you whether that's what you like or not really.

I guess harsh is a relative term.... I still remember the spine crunching ride of my slammed 64 Econoline and so long as I keep that in mind everything else is like riding on a cloud

I prefer the idea of a controlled ride

I was happy with the Dakars I put on the Tacoma for the most part. Had to limit what I carried because as you said, they don't hold a lot of weight. Might be a little better with the optional overloads but if you carry a lot of shit, look at getting custom Alcans or something like that where you can specify the load range you need better.

Water. You can see water still dripping from the rear axle.

I had just sprayed simple green and washed off the underside of my truck after something like this -

Thanks for the heads up... with cap and mattress/camping stuff I'm at a constant 250 in the bed now. I plan on carrying probably an additional 300 in tools and another gear give or take 50lbs for the drawers and stuff to hold/organize it

Guess I'll look into Alcans then because in 5yrs time I'll be replacing the spare tire carrier with an aux gas can and putting a swing out bumper on the back

Is it crazy to get springs built for loads that won't be installed for probably 60k miles? I really don't want to pay for 2 sets of rear springs

Thank you, and yes they are.

He's got some serious skill being that he not only welded them on, he made them to match the bumper before I ever took my truck to him:welder:

Yeah, that's going to be too much for the Dakars IMO. Look into the Alcans.

Is it wrong of me to not want the 5100 Billy's for the sole reason that almost everyone else installs them? I have no legit reason ... i also don't like their fully silver:rofl:

Who do you think I am... Superman?!

Ain't no way on God's green earth I'm combining red and yellow bushings with blue shocks:rofl:

That's why I wanted the nitrochargers... cause theyre yellow lol. I know the Billy 4600 are yellow but they're stock and won't work with bigger springs
