vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

I have scoured my spam folder and deleted folders. Unless its disguised as penis enlargement or a home warranty, its not there. I did receive the confirmation email. It should be sent to the same email address as that one correct? I didn't have a typo in my email address is what I'm asking?

 

I got the reg file from ov tune! still have not heard anything about the master key.

Is there anything I can do with the reg file alone while waiting for VF tuner key?

 

I am processing pending vF Keys today.
You can flash files with the registration key installed

 

Still no sign of my credits. I followed the instructions and requested through vF. Weird that some people got theirs in a few hours and others are still waiting 3 days later. I replied to my email from OV asking if I should try again in vF or sit tight or wait patiently but no reply yet. I was hoping to unlock another ECU this weekend.

@OVTune any feedback?

And just like magic they showed up. I checked right before I posted above. Just opened vF again after the reply and BAM!

Ok, its been a while since I have been on here. How do I know if the flash files have changed/updated since I flashed last?

 

ECUs 04B00 - 04B04 2.0 are now available in VFT Format.
you can make a request for it if you are a flash kit owner who upgraded to vF Tuner.

Ok, So I'm reading that the 2.0 files are Octane learning... so what's the difference between the premium and regular files? I'm running the regular_stock_THx at the moment, and I'm not impressed.

 

Running the regular file with premium fuel won't have the same performance results as the premium map with premium fuel.

 

I was not impressed with any of the THX tunes either. The difference Between prem and reg is the range of octane learning. Reg starts lower and does not go as high. Prem starts higher and goes up to high octane. I’ve found no difference in performance yet, but I always have premium fuel in the tank.

 

Speaking of this, is it "bad" to go from a higher octane to a lower one? Sorry if that's a dumb question.

Wasn't sure how that might affect the engine. It's not something I plan to do frequently, but wanted to try out some premium with the tune installed.

 

It’s totally fine. I do it all the time, especially on road trips.

 

@OVTune Can you please take a moment to check my specific order. #7111. Still no VF master key and I swear its not in my spam folder. Been waiting since the 16th and haven't gotten a response on any emails or zendesk tickets (18815) about this. Not sure what went wrong, but i can give you a different email address or setup a phone call to sort it out.

Flashed to a 2.0 beta this weekend (19770) and while I liked the tip in, the tune wasn’t nearly as well refined as the 2.0 finals that were released. Flashed back to 2.0 after 100 miles. Can’t wait for the vF versions so I can tweak alternator for AGM.

 

I've been waiting to change the alternator settings too......looking forward to it. I hope the performance files are included, or are in their way soon as well!
