Hey guys... so I got a 2015 Tacoma. Have had the truck about 9 months now and been great so far, until now. One morning I went to leave for work, started just fine, went to put it in reverse and wouldn’t come out of park. Had to take the wife’s car to work. Anyways... started looking up what it could be and mostly I’m coming up with a blown fuse. I have checked my fuses 2 or 3 times and even switched a couple of fuses around. Also saw it may be the brake switch, so I bought a new switch and replaced that. Still stuck in park. Only thing I did to the truck was install a set of switchback dtrl from csjumper. Have spoke with him and all the wiring is correct. He also said it sounds like a blown fuse. I’m at a loss at what to do since I’ve checked all fuses and brake switch. All lights are functioning as they should. When I first start the truck I have no warning lights on the dash. After pressing the brake and using the over ride to shift out of park, the “brake” light comes on, on the dash. Help please!!! Lol

Sounds like you're looking at everything i would. Fuses, then bulbs and then the brake switch. Did this happen right after the install of the DTRL?

Not right after. Drove the truck for a couple days with no issues than on about the 3rd day after the install it happened

Hmm...That's odd. If it were me, I would probably uninstall the DTRL and see if the problem still persists even though you verified the wiring with csjumper. They are the variable in this issue from the sounds of it and may be shorting something out

I'm sure you cross this question off your list when you changed the brake switch but I'll ask it. Are you brake lights illuminating when you hit the brakes?

I'm betting that the brake lights don't work. All points lead to that.

Could have removed the little cap and pushed the secret button and put it in reverse.

Removing the dtrl are my last resort. Trying to resolve the issue before that but if all else fails I will go back to stock.

Brake lights are working as they should.

    Possibly the nss.

I did remove the plastic cap and push the button to override the shifter. Works doing that but not gonna do that forever.

In order for the shift lock to work, 10A IG1, 7.5A acc, and 10A stop fuse must be good.

Mine isn’t one bit of sticky tho is what I’m saying. If I over ride it by pushing the little button on the shifter it shifts perfectly fine thru all gears. Once I put in back in park it won’t come out unless I push the over ride button.

YouTube is my go to. Nothing on there besides saying to replace fuses! Which I have.

And now after changing fuses I’m getting the abs, traction control, and brake light all on

I'm still thinking you troubleshoot from the DRLs and disconnect them long enough to see if that makes a difference. At the very least you crossed it off the list.

So I’ve kinda eliminated them to a point. The wires that I cut and spliced into a fuse tap from the harness. I removed the fuse tap and those wires completely so that the drl white won’t come on. Put a fuse in the spot that I placed the fuse tap and still stuck. Blinkers still work as normal I just don’t have the white drl.

Hmmm got me thinking tho. I wonder if the drl not being on have anything to do with it? Not sure why it would, or why the abs, traction control and brake light warning lights would be set off

Thats got me thinking too...This is random but what happens if you turn your lights off complete (Headlights and everything) and then try to put it in gear? Kinda grasping at straws at this point but I'm curious if that makes a difference.

Tried messing with the light switch. Tried it in all position and didn’t make a difference. I’m gonna try throwing in the old bulbs and see if that makes a difference
