On vacation this week. Started with Iron Man last Friday and have been watching all of the movies in release order.
Last night was Infinity War and Captan Marvel (which honestly kinda sucked)
Tonight is Endgame and Far from Home.

looking forward to Black Widow. It’s a shame that it’s been put off until November. :(

I remember a similar story where a kid who trained in BJJ saved another kid from a pitbull by utilizing a rear naked choke.

Chris Evans is cool, he visited an ill child in my county a few years back along with RDJ and Gwyneth Paltrow. Sadly the child passed away not too long after that visit.

I don’t get the hate for DC. It seems it’s more of a bias than anything. Some of their movies have been really good. Man of Steel is one of my favorite superhero movies. Didn’t care much for BvS or JL
But I am legitimately looking forward to the Snyder cut and I also plan to watch the director’s cut of BvS too as I’ve heard it’s much better (it’s currently on HBO Max). I also really liked Aquaman and Shazaam.

They may not be as good as the MCU but even marvel has made some stinkers...cough cough Thor: The Dark World cough cough...

The thing about Marvel that DC doesn't get is attention to character and story matter, and don't take yourself so seriously. Those DC directors who "get it" are able to produce good films. Those that don't give us Green Lantern.

Another problem that DC has is with its heroes. Both Superman and Captain Marvel have the same issue - they're TOO powerful. The most plausible obstacles for them to overcome are internal. I think Henry Cavill did a better job with Superman than Brie did with Carol Danvers, but Captain Marvel would have been a better film if it had been edited chronologically instead of this "reveal the past" crap. Still...when you have the ability to crack a planet in half it's hard to imagine an enemy that can defeat you. That's why Thanos worked so well in Marvel, and the baddie in Justice League is so forgettable (because I literally forgot who it was).

Batman is the best DC product BY FAR because he's human - he has an insane amount of obstacles for him (and his money) to overcome. The Christian Bale Batmans were out-frigging-standing for that very reason. Not just the realism and relatable tension, but that he could be a failure and suffer and still find a way back.

If DC took a step back and looked at everything long range like Kevin Feige did, and LET THE DAMN WRITERS RUN THE SHOW instead of studio people, DC would consistently have better products instead of hits here and there among disjointed offerings.

And the best thing to happen to Thor was Taika Waititi. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Taika need to be running Star Wars. Holy shitballs, how amazing would THAT be?!?

I love the Bale Batman trilogy. So much so that I do not even consider it part of the DCCU. They just exist on their own and deserve their own separate universe.

Agree. Thor 1 and 2 were my least favorite MCU entries but Ragnarok is my favorite of them all. I've since watched a ton of Taika Waititi's other movies and really like his work.

    Oh and Captain Marvel....another stinker.

Also, how can you forget Zod from Man of Steel? Michael Shannon (type cast villain) was great. But then in BvS he ends up becoming Doomsday...That's where you lose me

Yep - and it’s amazing work technically with compelling story. What every foundling needs.

    This is so.

Because the studios are not equipped to think long term. A comic publisher literally plans titles and storylines years ahead. Hence why Marvel Studios works and DC doesn’t.
