See if there are headers with your purchase and a boost gauge

 

There are TRD headers on it.
I didn’t notice a boost gauge but honestly I was looking for other things haha

 

Have to had it towed to your place yet? I’m interested in seeing some pictures of the rust.

 

No not yet, Im looking for the best deal to get it towed. I’ll post them when I’ve got it home. It will be by this Sunday. I’m hoping to get it earlier in the week but I have to coordinate with work and driving to the mountains to get it and with their work schedule as well. Fun stuff.

 

If it a Colorado truck it will have little to none

 

Honestly, that’s one thing I’m not entirely sure of, I’m not sure if they moved here or not. I’ll find out for sure, good info to have

 

So from what I understand it was purchased in Denver, so hopefully whatever rust is saw was basically superficial and repairable. We’ll find out soon

Alright everybody! here’s a couple of pictures of the truck and some of the rust. I went peening around and everywhere that looked the worst, still had that metal sound to it. I will take more tomorrow in the daylight, It got too dark for good photos

Driver side near near the back end this is one of the worse spot I noticed, but again, I peened it and sounds like I still have solid metal, it almost looks like a shitty coating was attempted at one point without doing the proper preparation. Not sure on that. But it has the dealer sticker on it and it was bought right in Littleton so I’m it entirely sure why the rust
Here is a photo of the driver side frame in front of the tire, to show how this area of the frame is in great condition. Where most of the rusting seems to be on the back end.

TRD headers too, nice. I have them as well, they add a nice sound to the exhaust

The rust doesn't look too bad except for the back where the leaf springs mount. That's a common area for it to happen on these trucks, also where the rear shocks mount. I would look into getting that area reinforced because you don't want the rear shocks or especially the leaf springs to break off the frame.

All in all that truck is a steal for $1500

 

SC 2k, headers 600, you made out pretty good. Double cab 6k Swap that shitty frame and u have an awesome 4x4

i see frames here in cali every now and then, snag one up and do a swap. these trucks last forever...

 

A little cleaning on that frame and it will be just fine!
Looks like it’s mostly surface type spotting

 

Once you get the motor/SC running well, take the bed off (very easy) and take it to someone who can sand or bead blast the rear of the frame. Hopefully no reinforcing and just a few cans of POR15 to finish up
