Can someone tell me what the valving is in OME vs dobinson (twin tube)

I heard OME is linear and dobinson is progressive but i am not sure if that is true.

    Thanks

This is what I am planning on getting based on the feedback here and some additional research.

I plan on putting around 200 pounds on the front with a Winch and Hidden Winch Bumper mount. Manufacturer says this combo weighs about 150 pounds.
I don't tow anything atm but I plan on getting a pop up trailer so maybe the ELO96R's maybe better. But I don't want a bouncy ride until I get the TT. NitroCharger 90021
    2887 Coils
    ELO95R Real leafs.

    Good price as well.

Good thread. I’ve looked at OME in the past, they are popular for 4Runners (I lifted my 4Runner with billsteins, and different coils). Thread is interesting trying to pick the correct setup the first time is tricky. I’ll keep reading and hopefully by the time I’m needing a suspension refresh I’ll know exactly what I want for armor and springs.

OME 887/5100 all day for me, don't understand why you would not consider the option.

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread but I have an OME question. I had the 888s installed to prepare for a future bumper being installed. Well that never happened and I don't see it happening for a little while. In the rear I have AAL. So basically 3in front and 2in rear. Leaves me level but not when I have the bed loaded for camping.

Question: Can I add a 1 inch spacer in the rear to temporarily compensate for the load?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Normally I do installs myself but as I get older it interests me less so I'm not familiar with it.

That much weight up front you want 886s.

My 887s have sagged excessively with less than a years use with just the added weight of an aluminum skid and sliders. My medium duty dakars were replaced under warranty for premature loss of camber too and the replacements were on their way until I added the extra spring to make it a heavy set, and this is with just an alucab canopy.

I like the way they ride so I'm adding a headstrong 1/4" spacer to get some height back but next go around I'm going with coilovers so I can adjust the preload rather than play this which spring game.

ninernation--curious how much 'excessive' is? What size tire are you running? what do you have hub center to bottom of fender? I've considered going the 887 w/ 5100's route also. i have about 130 lbs of bumper and winch up front plus sliders on stock OR suspension with a 1" revtek spacer (was on the truck when i bought it). I clear 265-70-17s without issue and would hope to be about the same height after upgrading.

    Hey guys,

Those of you running ome, how’s the ride off road? Does it soak up bumps or is it kind of rough? Body roll? Do you have Soft ride or sport shocks?

    Thanks

That stinks! 255-80-17? All this advice and these trucks are still just an expensive experiment.

    Nitro 4.88 gears OME suspension ST/Maxx 255/85R16s
Update. Here how the OEM suspension sits with the trailer hitched up. I’m running the softer shocks, 888s, and standard leafs. The trailer is about 3700 lbs and I’m running 800 lb bars on a ReCurve WDH. Also, those are 33s (255/85R16) on the truck and a 2” lift and 31s on the trailer. It pulls the trailer really nice on the Texas highways and performs great on the trails and in the dirt (without trailer).
