I'm trying to catch up here but it's a long damn thread. Did OP sell his truck? Sounds like he got a sweet offer.

He did indeed, several other members sold to carvana as well. Looks like prices peaked and are on the way back to earth

Better question. Does a TW thread ever get 500 members viewing a thread like the hayday or is it dead as Tundras.com now?

My 18 Sport DCSB finally showed up on their site:
    I paid $34k new in 2018.
    (Original MSRP was around $36k.)
Carvana gave me $36k a few weeks ago.
    They are asking $39...
Literally $3k more than the original MSRP....!

According to their public financials, they make on average $2,800 per car.
So this seems to be right in line with that, not to mention the financing back end margins they might make as well.

And a separate post about the market tanking.

If someone has been sitting outside of the stock market for the last 4 years waiting for a dip, they missed out on 70% increases.
So if the market tanks it almost needs to tank by 50% just for them to be at their chicken-little peak in 2016.
So for them to be right, and the tanking of the market from 2016 "is still going to happen", it would need to take by about 60-70% now just for it to reflect a 30% drop from 2016.

It could happen I suppose, but unlikely.

And for the fear-mongers that were waiting for the second drop after 2008. They've missed out on 300% gains if they stayed out since 2008.

According to their quarterly numbers they've never made a profit.

When people compare money losing companies like Carvana, Uber, Lyft etc to Amazon is shows how ignorant they are. Amazon sells millions of items, offers numerous services, and has their own eco system of products.

At the end of the day Carvana is just another used car lot like Carmax. If they couldn't fix their spending problem in the best of times they sure ain't going to do it now

Was there one? The standard answer for perma bulls for companies that lose money but will be darling in the future is...... you haven't guessed it.... so did Amazon. It's too bad that WeWork didn't IPO.

Carvana is a trash company. It's good to see people getting top dollar and making out like bandits.
