Who gets tired of hearing that the TRD Sport 4x4 isn't off road capable? It's a Toyota truck!!

All joking aside....she's served me well over the last 5.5 years. It's a truck when I need a truck. It handles decently with the stiffer suspension...compared to my first 2 non Sport Tacos. The extra ground clearance of the 4x4 suspension has saved me many times on my 50 mile daily commute.

And when the snow starts to pile up...off goes the traction control and on goes the LSD and snow tires. I've never had an issue.

Nuh-uh! You literally can't even drive down a dirt road in a sport. Very dangerous and stupid! I did it once and got stuck.

Yep....Toyota killed 2 birds with one stone. They install the 2nd electric motor in the rear end. This freed up space up front and was a simple way to fire up the rear wheels. They activate during wheel slippage or act as a power booster when you lay your foot in the pedal.

Kinda weird to look under it. You see the half shafts coming out of the motor/diff.....but no drive shaft from the front.

The new hybrid only Sienna will be this way too

For the newer RAV4 Hybrid? I think they optioned for AWD and FWD.

No...as far as I know ALL RAV4 hydrids are AWD. That rear motor is not an option. It's a fundamental layout of the drivetrain.

The Prius uses a similar setup as an AWD system as of a couple of years ago

Or when you struggle to climb a sand dune while a hipster in flip flops walks by you with a mean smile.
