Trading my '18 OR in this week, so I've been taking all the aftermarket stuff off to put it back to stock. Going to have a few things for sale here pretty soon, mostly lights and cosmetic stuff.

Thank you. The green looks really good. Shame I painted over it. I highly recommend using snap ring pliers to pry the housing from the lens. I used them on the second lens and I was done within 30 min with no hassle.

You are right. I watched them do the work too. I know if I did it there would be bubbles and creases. They smooth that stuff out like it's so easy.

Most of the time it's the same reason people still change at 3k instead of 5k, just stuck with old school thinking.
Ever since I've switched to synthetic I've done 5k changes with filter changes every other change. Even though I know the oil I buy is good for at least 7500 miles, it's a hard habit to break.
Sometimes there are real reasons to change oil with low miles, like extreme driving conditions or the oil has been in the engine for a year.

That was exactly the position I was in with my previous truck (ford ranger). I only drove it 3-4K miles per year. As such my truck oil was only changed once to twice a year. Definitely think the Tacoma will get more mileage though as I’m going out of my way to find reasons to drive it.

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the coil over springs on the SR5 and the TRD Off Road? I’m considering putting the Bilstein 4600 on my SR5 to hopefully soften up the ride a little. I know that the shocks themselves are different just want to know if the springs are any different.

Did my first oil change at 1k. About to do my second before 9k. First was because of the break in period. I check my oil every fill up. Been watching it get slowly darker. I'm sure it would be fine waiting longer, and the oil tests posted here confirm that. I plan on keeping this truck forever, and it doesn't hurt anything to do it too soon.

Not sure how it compares to the SR5 stock. The stock offroad 4600s, is not a great on road experience. Any amount of braking over barely touching results in nose dive. You feel the road a lot. Doesn't feel that great on fast corners. I pretty much hate it. Don't get me wrong, love the truck, love the off road performance, but I cannot wait to upgrade the suspension. The lift will be nice, but mainly for the daily driveability.

Maybe I am in the minority here. I am not sure.

Small money, BIG piece of mind! I change mine every 5k. Your Tacoma, your money, your option. It's just that simple. If there are those that want to change their oil at 10, 20 or even 30k intervals I'm fine with that because it's their Taco. Use your own judgment and go with what you're comfortable with and enjoy your Tacoma!!

I’ve been contemplating this. Curious how the blue looks at night with interior lights on if you don’t mind posting a few extra photos? Can’t decide if I want blue or if I want to wait on white.

Ahh, decisions, decisions. All part of what makes moddling a Tacoma fun....... and expensive! You should see my "on 2nd thoughts" pile.
