Remove and sell the mud flaps to pay for the shipping to send me the running boards! :D

Actually, I think the black running boards look pretty good with the white truck....but if they get in your way and/or you don't use them, you should probably remove them.

I have a white DC with running boards and removed the mudflaps. I am thinking about re-installing the rear 4x4 mudflaps and keeping the running boards. There is a lot more debris on my rear panels since removing the flaps. I think the running board fills in the bottom of the truck just enough to give it a finished look and hiding the raw sheet metal edge you normally see without making it appear lower like the tube steps do.

If your truck isn't lifted at all, or sitting to much higher with larger tires, then there is no point to the running boards. If they were nerf bars, or the N-fabs...I'd say keep it, I don't like running boards at all unless they are useful.

I put nfabs on mine so the kids could get in and out. I don't even use them.

I don't mind the mud flaps. I actually think they're cool.

I can't stand running boards on any truck. It's the very first thing we do to any of our work trucks that we get, if they come on them. They scrape on everything and factory running boards are not strong enough to add much if any protection to your underbody. We probably have at least 4 pair of running boards rusting behind our shop right now. Honestly, it will look as if you have lifted your truck when you first take them off.

As far as mud flaps... I am 100% with taking off fronts, not completely sold on the rear. The only thing I am concerned with is other peoples' windshields. I'm not worried about the paint behind my flaps, but I don't want to be responsible for chipping someone's windshield.

haha, are you like their spokesman?!? i wish i could, maybe when the money tree comes back into harvest, lol.

yeah, i am thinking that i will remove the boards and leaving the flaps. i don't use the boards, but the flaps might save me some paint. you have me wondering what kind of work is it that you do that you would be driving off road so much.

    hahahahahaha

i am thinking that i will probably keep the mud flaps for now. i will more than likely take them off when i get my next set of tires, but for now they are helping me out a little with the paint. as far as the running boards, i think they gotta go. they kind of diminish the 3'' lift, because that's about how much they hang down from the truck. i don't use them, and the time or two i have stepped on them, they have bowed downwards. that's pretty weak, because 200lbs isn't too hefty. so i think i will at least take them off tomorrow to see what if it looks any better and leave it like that for a few days to test it out. might even take off the flaps just to see how that looks also. if all else fails, i can put them back on.

This has been my conundrum since I bought my truck and got the new wheels.

I love the wheels, makes the truck look beefier and higher. I actually like the running boards and use them.

The mud flaps though....don't think I like them. They're so long! But I want to protect the paint.

I don't offroad that much....I got dirt bike riding a lot and there's some dirt roads and such. Also, when I go to my shooting competitions there's pretty good off road trails.

That said, I will probably go more often now that I have an off road truck :)

So, I think I'm going to remove the flaps, drive around for a month or so and see what happens and how it looks. I guess I can always just put them back on :D

Nice trucks! Love seeing the pics!

definitely, you can always test it out. if you like it, keep em off. and if you don't, put them back on. simple enough! lol. and nice truck

not really sure how to go about shipping these if i do keep them off. but i will look into that if nobody local wants them.

yes! looks much better. your truck looks like it is a few inches higher because you don't have those things hanging down those extra few inches.

Mud Flaps- good for keeping the truck cleaner perhaps, but off road, the first time you hit something with the flaps they will fall or tear off.

Side steps- your's are the best looking for a stock option IMO for a step up, but if you do not "need" them, I would take them off.

I feel the truck looks better with both off, but if you do very little or light off roading, then you may want to keep them on to preserve the looks of the truck.

Well if you ever lift you truck, you may start to use the boards. I use mine all the time.
My wife and kids would have a hard time getting in to my truck without them.
