Again, not sure how you’d do that. Pretty sure I’d have seen you over

2012 FJR1300. Has high klms on it but came with a top case along with the side saddles so that was the reason I bought this particular one. Just had all the saddle bags repainted and a set of after market mirrors with LED signals build in. Had a few scratched that bothered me so had to get fixed.
Installed a pair of frame sliders last week.

I bought these LED replacement bulbs. They have the resistor built in.

06,12, and 16 all are the same shade of blue. If you're not already on the FJRforum.com and FJRiders.com are both great for FJR owners. I'm on both with same handle. Any questions hit me up and I'll try to help you out.

    I need some advice:

I just replaced the rear pads and rotor on my scrambler 250. It brakes like garbage now, the pedal is soft and the rear brakes also seem to be dragging? I bled them again and replaced all the fluid with new dot4. I can smell the rear brake getting hot when I use it, but it won’t lock the rear like it used too. My other 250 has identical parts and has a rock solid rear brake.

What am I missing here? I zip tied the pedal down for the night to see if that helps, but I think I might have to pull it all out and start over. I just can’t think of what I could have done wrong.

    Ideas?

That's a great resource with lots of tech knowledge. Past couple years mods got a little heavy handed regarding rules and using search function before asking questions which drove some folks away. FJRIDERS.COM is a little ...... friendler? More relaxed with a lot of good natured abuse amongst friends. The FJR organized meets are awesome. Hope to meet you at one sometime.

    The for the info.
I had a meet with some TW members in Hamilton Ontario last weekend, I'm from St. Thomas. It was good to put a face to a truck. Have only met one FJR owner so far in my area.

There are several FJR peeps from the Great White North that come south for some of the meets. Sadly this year that's not happening. How many miles or km are on it? I had turned 127k miles the morning my 2007 got destroyed. Sadly that bike had even finished the Iron Butt Rally in June. Not me on it but I gave it to a rookie IBR rider to finish on when their BMW blew the motor on day 10.

I purchased it with about 58000 klms. Came with new tires which was a bonus. Didn't need anything to safety. About 2 weeks after I bought it the ABS light started flashing but it still seems to work. No error code is displaying though. Looked on the forum for some info but haunt investigated yet. Finally going camping for a few days this week so hoping to get to it next weekend.

    Three things come to mind:

    1) Did you change the brake pad compound? Different compounds bite differently.
    2) Did you lube the slide pins? That'd be my first thought if they were dragging.
    3) Did you clean the rotor real good before you took off and then bed the brakes in properly? A few hard stops from 45 or 50 to zero in a row?

It’s the same compound as before and as the other bike
I did lube the pins, but maybe they need more?
I cleaned the rotor very well, and it was when I went to bed them in that I found the issues. They got hot but won’t bite like before. Also lots more pedal travel.

I think I’m going to have to take them off and start over tomorrow.

That's real bizarre.. is the caliper centered on the rotor? Did it get bound up somehow and is dragging on one side and overextending the piston on the other? That'd explain the heat, no bite, and more travel.

About once a year I decide to throw my panda helmet cover on and go fuck around town like a complete jackass. The only thing I think that would make this better would be if I were on a white grom instead. Pretty fun getting random waves and laughs from folks in cars and on the sidewalk. Also makes you realize how many people are paying zero attention to what's going on around them.

it has to be something like that. It too dark and mosquito-y out to try tonight. I will pull the caliper, re-grease and check the mounting tomorrow. I hope I don’t have a bad master cylinder.
