First thing to check is rear brake pedal. They are poorly lubricated from factory and many owners ignore those simple pivot points. Worst part of pulling it to grease it is the small cotter pin for the rod to the master cylinder. You'll see what I mean when you look at it. Most owners reverse the pin direction so future serving the cotter pin is more accessible.
When you flush brake fluid there is a procedure for exercising the ABS pump. Make sure you do that. Those spool valves in the ABS block can stick and if they freeze from rust the whole block needs replaced and it's pricey.

I didn’t get a chance to check the flasher relay yesterday, but I did put the battery on my Battery Tender and discovered that it was definitely low. It took at least an hour before the light started flashing green, so it had less than a 75% charge. I need to also check the date code on the battery - it could be five years old for all I know.

I will take it out this afternoon and see how the signals act.

Where does one find one of these covers? Are there other covers? Sounds like fun jackassery.

Pulled it all apart again this morning, and re-greased the pins, polished the parts where the inner pad slides, and scuffed the rotor. Still problems. Re-bled the lines, re torqued the bolts, adjusted the support arm. No change, decided to replace the caliper with a rebuilt used one that I have, and when I was going to pump the pistons out, one was stuck. Cleaned them, and the dust boots, and now it brakes like a champ. I was running on one piston in the rear and it was twisting the pad in the caliper. No more dragging, no more soft pedal, solid stopping power is back. I will hold off in the rebuild until winter and swap out the calipers then.

Nice work! It’s tough to stay motivated when you can’t diagnose the problem, but you got it done.

I hate mud with a passion. I ended up with my leg caught under the bike a few years back in mud. Ever since then I nope around it real quick.
