It’s funny my father in law seen your truck that rear decal the stripe with the skull before you had the camo and he wanted to do something similar to that on his raptor  but ended up going with like this muddy splotch look which looks pretty good it’s different if I get this wrap thing down tho we’re gonna do a really dope graphic on his by the way how did you do the skull on your rear end?

Haha nice! It’s the Metal Mulisha logo that I had made at a wrap shop in Riverside that we put on! It’s a matte finish came out really nice! I just took the template from a Dodge Ram that had a similar design lol

Here are the before photos ! I finished it but by the time I was done putting everything away it was too dark to take a picture I’ll be taking pictures tomorrow and definitely posting them ! Experience was well learned I only ran into one issue with the vinyl and with the carbon fiber would be when you do any stretch it distorts it. There a few noticeable ones on the hood when you see the refection but other than that I love doing it took me about an hour to lay it and must say excited to do the rest of the truck ! I’ll show you guys pictures tomorrow ! Also I have a bit left over you guys think I should do the mirrors too ?

About how much wrap would you think we’d need for the full tacoma edit and from that angle it looks pretty good Is that your first attempt?

I have been wrapping cars for about 12 years now. I would recommend buy a couple of sample pieces and practicing. or if there is a wrap shop around your area ask them for scraps say its for your kids school project lol. but 2 key things when wrapping is

    1. is pull tension to make the material look smooth like glass the smoother you get the material the easier it is to lay. don't stretch it just light tension.

    2. heat is your best friend an 80 degree day is ideal. use a heat gun not a torch it allows the material to be stretched further without discoloration. and post heat all corners and curves 180-200 degrees for 20 seconds or so it breaks the memory of the vinyl.

here is some of my work it used to be off whiteIMG_6061.jpg

I will keep you guys updated with that. I used 5ft by 7ft for just the hood alone and it was the perfect amount to do everything enough scraps left over that I think I’m gonna do my mirror caps but never the less I will keep updating amount of vinyl used. Doing a full write up on this !

Damn yeah that looks really good ! I’m about to post pictures right now with the wrap on the hood ! But I think if I would’ve done some other vinyl I would’ve been fine and no over stretching it’s just since I wrapped it in carbon fiber it was difficult to get it perfect but in my personal opinion I think I did damn good for never doing it before. I did a ton of read ups on it probably for a week straight watching videos and forums like crazy but like they say practice makes perfect ! Thanks for the tips ima be posting the pictures now !

Okay well here’s the wrap ! Don’t mind the condensation on the hood when I walked out at first I was like oh shit. Rip wrap but nope just condensation on top but must say love how this came together and excited to keep on doing this and get my whole truck done eventually ! Let me know what you guys think!
