Can you believe this thing still get 20+ mpg (22 corrected for tire size)?

I used a GPS receiver to track how fast the car thought it was going vs. GPS and it's reliably 10% off at various speeds.

I decided to paint the beadlocks (aka wheel stiffeners) black and holy shit. I'm in love. This is perfect to me. I'll do a full picture soon, I'm so worn out. Paint is ok, I'll need to do some sanding and touchups.

You guys want to see something scary? My rear axle has 0.75" bora spacers to even out with the front (Maxtrac spindles). The shop didn't catch that the stock studs stuck out PAST the spacer and the wheels are flat in black (no cutouts!). The shop didn't catch it and neither did I. The stock studs actually made an impression in the wheels! This could have been super dangerous and I was on the freeway a lot! I'm not convinced the back wheels were even flush against the spacers and may have been bottomed on just the studs!!!! Scary. Glad I did the paint work caught it. Can you imagine if it was up front?! Always check!

Here's the 0.75" bora spacer with studs out

    IMG_20200829_124840.jpg

Back of wheel! Zoom and you'll see the stud impression on the mounting surface. I can't say for sure whether the wheel was fully seated on spacer or not, but I don't think so.

    IMG_20200829_124854.jpg

I cut studs back into spacer (still plenty of threads for full engagement.)

    IMG_20200829_130203.jpg

Nothing appears damaged. The spacer is still flat, nothing looks damaged. I may go ahead and order new .75" bora spacers though because I feel the extended studs may have been stressed.

I didn't get a nice full picture but I love it. Here's front shiny/back black. It really makes the wheel not as obnoxious haha.

Do you rub without the spacers? Are you able to take them off?

I can run without the spacers. They are cosmetic primarily, otherwise the front wheels stick out 0.75" more.

Looks great! I used the Spidertrax 1.25 spacer and it looks even front and back. We are talking second generation.

I'm a few weeks in to having polished wheels and I have to say I love them. It's very relaxing to grab some mothers aluminum polish, and just sit there and shine them up. Mindless tasks like polishing things is kind of nice.

I too have a Maxtrac lift... I need to get some 0.75 spacers for the back... before you cut them for these new KMC wheels, how far did the studs protrude through spacer?

Looks like just a touch. Most wheels have recesses that it would not be an issue.
