Going to work yesterday morning, I was crossing an intersection on the green when this asshole in a utility van runs the light and hits me. When I finally get out of my truck, the guy accuses me of running the light. I told him he was full of s*#t and he continued to accuse me until a saint of a woman who witnessed the accident came over and gave me her name and phone number and told this asshole that he ran the light. Fortunately no one was hurt, but my baby is in bad shape. Don't know if there is any frame damage or not. He pushed me sideways about 8 feet after impact. Now for the insurance waiting game. That sucks!

I hope you and your child recover quickly. Jersey Born, you need to lighten up, you don't kill someone for an auto accident or for blaming the other driver. You will go to prison where you belong if you want to kill someone. Jersey drivers are the some of the worst in the country, so you likely will get in an accident there. We have a golf trip every year with 16 guys, 5 of them are from Jersey. All five of the Jersey boys have struck pedestrians with their cars. One of them has struck two pedestrians. The group does not allow them behind the wheel of any of the rental vehicles ever.

I'm assuming when he said his "baby" was bad shape, he meant his Tacoma, not child. That's what I got from the story. Relax Francis.

Thanks for the well wishes and all. When I talk about my baby, It's my Tacoma. Fortunately it was just me in the truck. At this time in my life, all my other babies (youngest is 34) are grown and have babies of their own. Love being a grand parent!!:amen::yay: Thanks again all.

Make sure to look at that passenger side steer axle for sure. It looks like it is at an angle. I would take a good look at all of the steering components and the rear axle etc to see if has shifted.

That sucks about the truck, but I'm glad you're alright.

I may be going out on a limb here, but just as the OP didn't literally mean the driver of the van was a physical anus, I don't think Paintdiddy meant he would literally kill the dude.

Thank goodness for those who are willing to come forward and do the right thing to help their fellow man. Many witnesses would have dropped their head and kept going so as not to be inconvenienced by the situation. I'd get that lady a gift card or something. Looks like time for a new taco. Great little grandpa trucks!

OP Glad to hear you're ok that's first and foremost. While the truck can be fixed, I'd still be throwing a fit at that guy. I got rear-ended by an old lady once in my Taco and I just about killed her. There was 10" of snow on the ground and she couldn't stop (the roads still weren't plowed). She acted like it was my fault cause I stopped (it was an intersection where we had a stop sign). Why she was out in that snow, I have no idea. For me, I was on my way to work

FJM008, it seems like you're NJ friends are just shitty drivers. As someone who spent many years as a long distance truck-driver, I can tell you NJ has some of the better drivers especially for the amount of people on our roads and I've been through all of the lower 48 states plus Canada. We drive aggressive but I think being aggressive is the key. Too many morons out there are getting licenses (both from NJ and other states). If we are basing it on people we know, I went to college with a kid who hit a parked tractor trailer while he was going down the street cause he was changing the radio station. How he missed something that big is beyond me. Oddly enough, he was from Maryland.

No, I think he did mean and it sounds as if he was correct in characterizing the van drive as being someone you'd describe as the distal or terminal end of the human gastrointestinal tract. To fire back with accusations in an attempt to cover your own blatant wrongdoing........and nearly killing someone in the process. If not an ASShole, definitly a dumbASS.
    Lord I apologize.

Just to clear the air about why I called him an asshole. I was alittle more than halfway thru the intersection when he hit me. He wasn't paying attention because there were no skid marks on his part, and for him to get out and argue the point that he ran the light, He is an asshole!! Thank goodness for the witness. She will be contacted after all the smoke settles:humble::cheers:. Thanks all for the responses.
