There’s no actual picture of the bumper, just stock photos. Kinda odd

Mine's modified, kinda. It's a MBRP single that dumps before the rear axle. The guy I bought it off of said his wife said it was too loud for her taste. After about 5 or 6 times in the truck I asked my wife if she could tell anything. She said yeah, but said it wasn't obnoxious. It's been a couple months and it's breaking in nicely and it's getting deeper and louder. It can never be too loud for either of us.

Y'all have to remember, we rode straight pipe Harleys for over 25 years, and are both huge piston heads. Her first car was almost a Mach I.

    Loud pipes save lives

No 3rd Gen Love Tom? I have had a couple different makes/types of trucks and each time I drive mine I am pleased with my decision to get it. I was happy with the Sport I had too. Even if the hood scoop was fake. When I had my Dodge 3/4 ton diesel, it was great. I needed that truck, when I didn't need that much truck anymore I got a Tundra. But only because at the time the Tundra cost a tiny bit less than a Tacoma. It was awesome. Then I had the opportunity to ride in my cousins 4R a bunch of times and decided that would cool. It was but I think ultimately, with my lifestyle I decided a truck would be better for me. So I traded that in on the Sport. When the Sport was totalled we considered moving back to a 4R but the one we wanted was way too damn much. Then the Pro I have fell into my lap.

I think a lot of the hype surrounding the various downfalls people feel the need to complain about are from people that don't have any or only one other experience to compare it to. Because these trucks last so damn long that experience is from something from a different era in most cases. So for instance, when they move into a newer truck with modern safety features they are not use to naturally they are apprehensive. This always makes me laugh though. I personally don't think vehicles have enough safety features to protect us from those idiots out there that shouldn't be on the road. But I am biased for obvious reasons.

99.9% of 3rd Gen owners complain about the transmission. I don't get it. I've experienced some of the quirks associated with it, but I've learned to work around it. If I want to. Is it worth complaining about? Not for me. Who would I complain to? Toyota corporate? Other 3rd Gen owners? The dealership I bought it from? My time is too valuable and lifes too short for all that bullshit.

I am also not unhappy with the MPGs I get when I drive like I have some sense. With the E rated heavy ass Cooper S/T Maxx 33" tires I can get 18 - 19 mpg all day long. Especially on a long range trip. Off road I would expect to be 4 - 5 MPG less simply because of 4WD and all the added throttle.

Here's a video I watched recently that really opened my eyes about what a Bone Stock TRD Pro is actually capable of. It reassures my belief that I did not make the wrong choice.

Emission testers don't look at exhaust systems anymore. They just plug a cable into the OBDII port. For newer vehicles that have an OBDII port that is.
