Who gets tired of hearing that the TRD Sport 4x4 isn't off road capable? It's a Toyota truck!!

Yeah, we'll get that occasionally, especially after a big snow fall. We don't get the clouds though. Too much snow for that. We just get the mist that coats your vehicle and feasts on frames.

Not everyone buys a truck for the off-road or cares. I have had quite a few Tacoma's and Jeeps as well. I currently have a lifted '16 Jeep Rubicon and a '20 TRD Sport. The sport for our Vermont winters and windy roads. The stiffer suspension makes it fun to throw around on the corners and the Jeep is for top down summer cruising. I know the limitations of each. I've done the extreme stuff but Vermont, like a lot of states has shut down most off road stuff. We have to settle for mostly class 4 roads now.
I had an old Tacoma 2wd that I would take places I never should have, but youth brings optimism. Older and wiser (62) has me not needing to prove what I already know. I wouldn't have bought a sport if off-roading was in mind or an off-road for my purposes. Tires and the nut behind the wheel matter more than almost anything.

^???^ A JEEP!?!? Sure, but have a friend with a Toyota that can go get you when the Jeep inevitably breaks down. It'll get you there, but may not get you back. Maybe I got unlucky, but my daughter's Jeep has been to the dealer 8 times since purchase. Top leaks (you'd think after 50+ years they would have figured that one out), ABS problems, shifter problems, came from the factory with a bad wheel - needed to be replaced after the 3rd roadside assistance call for a flat, oh - did I mention the pond in the driver's floorboard after every rainstorm? Check engine "mystery" issues. Nope - no sir...never again. Gone the day the warranty ends, I'll be at the dealer at 11:55PM that night, not one single minute of ownership past that warranty.

It could always be worse. As much as we bemoan the the loss the the great 4.0 and 3.4. The Jeep has been without it's best engine and quality for over a decade. I know someone that only buys Chrysler products and they're always being worked on. They rinse and repeat not wanting to try anything else. The power of marketing I guess.

Firestone MT's? What's your experience been with those? They've been on the ignore list since the old Ford Explorer blow-out death days. Thinking about some inexpensive options for take-offs.

    Let's make this simple.
    TRD SPORT = ALL SHOW
TRD OFF ROAD = ALL GO

LOL, at no point did I say reliable.

I've had 2 Jeeps, both older, both plagued with starter solenoid, fuel pump, and other random electrical issues. The short wheelbase was nice in the trees, but sucked for hill climbs. That was actually part of the reason I stretched my rear axle on my truggy, I figured with 40s, clearance isn't as big of an issue.

Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket.

Sport stands for Super Poopy On Rough Terrain Surfaces.

I thought it was the Off-road that had its shocks fail and puke oil going into Death Valley vs the Ridgeline which had no problems
