Hello all I just upgraded from a 1st gen to a 2012 TRD supercharged. I have a whole lot to learn as it's a different engine and my first boosted vehicle. The supercharger was installed at the dealership in 2012 so assuming from what I have read it should have the "TRD tune" is there any way to tell forsure if it's been tuned and is there better options for tuning. I dont know anything about tuning so I'm not really looking to do it myself as I dont want to mess anything up but I would like to get as much power as possible and still keep the reliability as it's my daily driver. Thanks in advance I will continue reading more on this thread and others that I find but if anyone has any particular threads to point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

    @brian.gonz

If the blower was installed by the toyota dealership, i would assume that they flashed it with the TRD supercharger tune as it is part of the factory install procedure to retain warranty, etc. So its pretty safe to say that you have the TRD blower tune.

If you want a tune that is more optimized, you'll need to purchase HP Tuners and have out resident ECU tuner @JustDSM sprinkle his engine magic with AT transmission tune spice from @nd4spdbh

In open loop power enrichment the stock TRD tune is gonna be rich regardless of pulley size. It’s closed loop part throttle that has to be dialed in.

Is there a learning process for the urd uconn? My truck won’t run with it installed, unplug it, truck acts fine. When it’s plugged in the truck is flooding. I don’t have my ecu flashed for a supercharger, it is flashed to eliminate sais and rear o2’s. Truck has 630 injectors and a 7th injector I haven’t plugged in.

Has the Ucon been programmed for the larger injectors? And all the other goodies? If not, that would explain it.

Yup! Not sure where you are getting 12lbs of boost or AFRs in the 10s though. That pulley ratio setup was getting me about 8lbs boost since I’m at 5500ft. My TRD reflash never had my AFRs in the 10s that I can recall. I’ve always been in the 11s even when I started boost referencing. Then again my TRD reflash was done over 10 years ago.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
Did you do the exhaust cam gears?

Yes it learns but not that extreme. Sounds like guardian protection. You don’t have any CELs? You need to talk with Scott

I don’t see how your stock ECM could run those 61lbs dekas.

No cel without ucon. With ucon it flashs sometimes as it’s dying. I have no idea either. The a/f without ucon is around 14-15, with ucon it floods as soon as it turns over and dies.

Mike Singer? Never heard of her. :p

Yeah I had an issue with my Fleetrunner back in the day but I have reason to believe that the belt was old stock from my local auto parts store which is why I most likely had issues with it.

You should get a hold of URD and get a programming meeting setup with Scott. I can't help but to think there's a minor discrepancy between the vehicle it was in originally and yours. It is interesting that you say the stock ECU runs the 61 pound injectors, as it should be programmed for the TRD injectors.

Things that would be useful to know:
    - What tune is on the stock ECU? Has anything be changed on the stock ECU?
    - Does the stock ECU have the TRD calibration?
    - Was the tune in the UCON expecting a TRD calibration or Stock?

Either way, I don't think your problem is going to be fixed on the forum. You'll have to reach out to Scott. Should only take him a few minutes of tweaking.

    Don't abandon ship just yet!
