Good info, thanks! If that’s the case, sounds like give it a shot end of September (if they can produce) or wait until the 21’s are solidly on the lots for any chance of of discounts. Or just plan to pay up! At least the 21s are spec’ed and priced similarly. Also hopefully everyone will be distracted with lunar and AG so I can snag a cement!

Cement is always tough, its still super popular, i've had 3 of them and managed 11-13% off MSRP w/out rebates, just gotta wait for the craziness to stop. Good luck!

I agree. I spoke with one of the moderators about doing that but they said that it was not possible.

I agree that "patience will pay off for those that can wait for inventory and demand to stabilize" and if Toyota was doing Quicksand next year, I would of waited.

2021 Tundra builds are live on the Toyota site. Tacomas shouldn't been too much longer? Rep out here in Vegas said beginning of November for 2021 Tacos for their dealer

Are the 2020s still built in Texas?

I just bought new 2020 Base Model SR .. Access cab ... 4x4 ... 2.7L 4 banger. 'Jump seats' in the back... Had to order it, so there was no wiggle-room on the price. Standard factory 'discount' of $1K .. (WAS $1500 a couple months earlier) and I did not buy any extra warranty stuff. I wrote a check for $29,500, out the door.
Also, I had to go to Montana to find a dealer willing to order the truck I wanted... So there is no sales tax there. But I live in Washington state .. And when I finally get the paperwork to register it, I'm gonna have to pay an extra (About) $2K for the tax here.
Not really the actual cost of the truck, but still more tacked on ya gotta pay.

Why would you be paying any "extra" tax. You would have paid the same amount if you bought in state.

I think they're built in both Texas and Mexico ... I bought mine in Montana .. It's a Texas truck.

Well, that's why I said it's really not part of the actual cost of the truck... But something you still have to fork $$ over .. So I always kinda' look at that as 'The Actual Cost' ... See what I mean?

Roger that, just making sure they didn't try to double charge you for tax. I bought out of state before and some dealers are quite inept at it... Tried to charge me for their own state, and then i'd have to pay for my own once registering in california.

I bought a 20 TRD Sport double cab long bed with tech package, LED headlights, tube steps and all weather mats for $36k in Ohio back in July. I struggled to find any in Ohio or even surrounding states.

LOL! Yeah, I see what you mean .. THAT would be a prob for sure .. (But not like we don't get double-taxed on everything anyway, it seems, right?) Well, like I said, Montana has no sales tax .. And I know I'm gonna get nailed for WA. state sales tax when I register it (Everyone gets their pound of flesh no matter what..) .. So it was pretty straight forward for me as to how it was gonna work.
I hadn't even thought of out-of-state with both having sales tax. Good thing I didn't buy a new rig in Idaho.. LOL!

No state Income tax in Washington though right? Oregon , no sales tax but high income tax. Now they have a half percent tax on new vehicles though in Oregon, when I bought my SR it was in there.

Looks like you got a good deal! I'm in the PNW and offered 34,900 for the same model and didn't have the bed mat, mudguards or tube steps. After I make 45 more posts I could offer to buy them off you. Ahem.

No state income tax here. But sales tax is really high. About 8.5% .. Good thing I live about 15 minutes from ID. Their sales tax is about 2% less and more important, gas there is always 40-50 cents a gallon cheaper.
If I need to buy something expensive, like say a new fridge ... I'll go to Montana and pay zero sales tax. It's 2 hours away, but worth it.

I was talking to this sales rep on the phone before the email with the quotes and I think a computer would have more charm to be
Mystery fees solved. They lifted the truck in house. She gave me those fees before they showed a pic of the truck lifted. e771c03869e54fb0b6a2aa2effcc25f7.jpg

I can't offer any real insight on new vehicle pricing other than to sympathize with people that are looking at new vehicles, especially if funds are tight..

Having spent a fair amount of time at the dealer this summer while my frame was being replaced I couldn't help but crawl in/out/over the new trucks that were on the dealership floor. Every time I came to the sticker, my eyes got wide in disbelief. Having paid a bit over $16k for my 08 truck when it was a year old with under 10K miles, the new prices seemed a little crazy.

By the same token, I tend to drive 'em until they die, so my time in-between shopping for a new vehicle is long. What typically happens is I go to the dealer, look at the sticker prices and say 'no f'n way'. Then after a while of shopping around, I come back and look at the very same price and think 'gee, that's not so bad'.

    The cycle of life...
