I read that the 3rd gen got a standard alternator unlike the 2nd gen which got a different one with the towing package.

Could be.. but the 130 amp alternator is listed with the optional equipment on my 2017. I always assumed that some models had a different rating.

I changed the Duty % Initial to 93, which wasn't high enough, then changed it to your recommendation of 94 and I'm getting 14.36 max like I said.
The other ones that Boris didn't have listed (Phase Duty 1 & 10, because he said they didn't need to be changed) I left alone.

Hmm, my window sticker says the 130amp alternator came with the tow package. Now I'm even more confused lol

Did you change all 6 of these to 94?

I changed the entire row to 94.

Well yeah... it came with the optional tow package. So I assume if you don't have the tow package you must have a different alternator. I believe the tow package is standard beginning with the 2020's.

My 2016 does have the tow package, therefore 130 amp alternator. Like I said the window sticker even says I have it.
Ignore my comment above about one alternator for all 3rd gens. Whoever said it was wrong.

Thanks! I'll tinker around with it. Though 2.0 is almost where I want it out of the box.

That's the thing I was trying to get at, several posts ago . . .
It could be possible that the required "settings" are different, depending on which alternator you have. Things like maybe the "Duty Cycle" in particular?
Equivalent VF settings may produce different results, depending on the alternator itself.

My stock volts vary from 13.6 to 14.0.
For each ECU ID the stock tunes are all the same.
It will be interesting to see if all trucks don't respond the same.

These were my readings from a 20mi trip. No AGM. I'd say that is roughly 13.5 to 13.9? The Commanded side seems to match the voltage measured at the terminals.

If the Torque guy ever fixes the app for Android 11, I'll edit the range to see better.

Hey guys haven’t been here in a while. Are the time packs available now to tinker the voltage beyond the stock tune packs?

I put one these in my cigarette lighter socket. I can glance at it when ever I want or take it to any of my other vehicles or store it in my glove box or???

VMs are great for diagnosing batteries and regulators that are on the way out. A permanently mounted one saved me on my bike when the stock R/R was kicking the bucket.

The only problem is that there is a voltage drop for anything not connected directly to the battery. That is where my screenshot came from. It is good to know what that drop is, esp when working with the charging side of batteries.

I have a bunch of other OBD apps, I'm just very comfortable with Torque. If it doesn't come back online with the next Android Beta update, I will get more comfortable with the other apps. It is funny that the developer has checked out after all these years.

Yes, but just the base version so far, no gearlock or performance yet. Send in your request!

I assume the buttons in the Toyota Flash Manager are disabled until I get the reg file? I was trying to get the other ECU info to include in my email request for the reg file.
