Keep it in a storage unit across town, ride it after work and say you're working late, several months from now, refer to your old bike as your new bike and catch yourself halfway through.

I'll just randomly pull it out for one of our rides, and when she notices it, and asks about it, I'll just say, "oh this old thing, I've had it for several months now..."

I've heard the front range is a non-trailforks area. I think mtb project is preferred in that area.

Its probably an uncovered spoke or other debris inside your wheel. Regardless, yes, get ride of those tunbes.

    not enough.
Just saying that certain areas, trailforks seems better and in other areas, mtb project seems better. My experience is with the AZ/UT/ID/WY/Western CO areas and trailforks is definitely a better source. A friend says that in NV and CA, MTB Project is much much better information-wise. So, depends on your area.

I like the idea of a new bike day.

I love it. I've been really enjoying it coming from a 27.5 130mm bike. I dont really even feel like i lost all that much playfulness. Its a tad slower on the flats but it still pedals well and i feel so much more comfortable jumping it. The DVO Topaz feels amazing and I've been clearing climbs i havent been able to before. The Ripley as we know is a super capable bike and people are usually in between the two, but i love the longer feeling of the Ripmo. Only compromise IMO with this bike is the weight which im at 35lbs. But i have Shimano Saint Clipless pedals and the Assegai's(with tubes still) that came stock which are both on the heavier side compared to others. But Ripley at the park probably wouldnt be as enjoyable as the Ripmo is and at the price its an awesome bike that can do all

Traded in my Apple Watch for a Fenix 6 sapphire. Much better watch for tracking activities. Much more rugged also. No touch screen is worlds better.
It does have its issues. HR is not great, altimeter and barometer is not great. But man, I love using the maps and tracks. It’s been awesome not using my phone to figure out new areas.
    Battery life is killer.

That was my first full Susser. Loved that thing.

What 27.5 130 bike were you on? I'm riding a 2018 Transition Scout. I love the bike and it's a good all-arounder for my area, but I'm really wanting to try a 29er finally. Due to my bike being an all-arounder, I'm a bit torn on if I should go 2 bike quiver or a new 29er all-arounder. If I add a bike I'm not sure if I would go short travel or long travel 29er. Or just sell my bike and get a Revel Rascal, Ripmo V2, etc. Ideally I'd love to have a short travel and long travel bike, but it's hard to justify that with such good mid-travel options available.

Like you mention, I'd love to see something from Ibis between the Ripmo and Ripley.

Cousin got his new Ripley (middle) and his boss got his new Stumpjumper ST. Both these fellas started mtbing 4 months ago.. guess they're either hooked or I should go into the bike sales industry.

I was riding a 2018 Specialized Camber before. I couldnt pass up what was offered (more than i originally paid 2 yrs ago) for it on the local market though so decided to sell/upgrade. I wish i could have kept it and had both, or kept it to eventually give it to my fiance who's still on her hardtail. But we are trying to save for a house and after selling the Camber i basically got the Ripmo AF for $1,200 out of pocket.

I wish they had a 29er in between the Ripley and Ripmo too! I was initially looking at the Mojo 4 before anything, but after i rode a 29er, there was no way i wanted to go back. And theres some serious value at $3199 for the RipmoAF. The Topaz feels amazing underneath me, and bottoming out never feels harsh on jumps or drops, The Onyx im still dialing in to my liking.

I have a Transition Sentinel 29er. Pedals well but is still a definitive enduro brawler. Paired with a Stache which is a rowdy XC hardtail, I feel like I have the perfect 2 bike quiver for Utah.

For a single bike, I'd prob keep the sentinel or I would look at the Ripmo. I was seriously impressed with that bike,

Buy once, cry once! I want to get into the bike industry but its seemingly tough unless you started working in a bike shop in high school and have built a relationship with a bike shop owner at said bike shop who eventually brings you on full time. OR, you chose not to do college and have no student loan debt or personal debt.

Feel like its difficult to get in and find a position relatively lucrative enough to support a family.

That's most of the outdoor industry to be honest though. I had a chance to get into a good job with Black Diamond, and the compensation package they offered (which was competitive in on the outdoor market but not anywhere else) was kinda disappointing. Granted that was coming from aerospace which is often on the other end of the spectrum.

Hahaha it does in fact look like an XX1 cassette but it's a Shimano Deore! If that was an XX1 I would've secretly swapped my GX for it!
