I got one of those stainless ones but haven't ever even used it. The bags are alright, just kind of a mess sometimes.

I have a few of the SST ones too. I seem to prefer the bags, though.

Drinking this gem from @uhplifted. Such a good stout that doesn’t try to be too much of anything. I like the idea of rye in a stout.

While allowing the beer to warm a bit in the glass, I threw together my first mead. It’s a plain Jane traditional made with wildflower honey. Curious to see how this comes out.

As always, if it passes my own personal test you are welcome to it. Unfortunately, mead is slow so maybe 6 months from now we will know if it’s any good or not lol.

Have you looked up the "one month mead" recipe? Seems like it can be done, but you have to feed it the proper nutrients, when it needs them, to do quickly. I thought about trying mead before but just never went through with it.

I did see that. Life is honestly pretty hectic right now so something I can literally mix up and let sit for awhile is right up my alley. We will see how it goes.

@Beer:30 since you have many, many taps; what do you use to bottle beer? Beer gun? Something else?

You didnt ask me, but im going to answer anyway

I used to try to use a cobra tap and racking cane with stopper to keep backpressure and found it to be a bunch of work for still foaming. I've gone to just doing it straight off the tap, wasting a bit to foam, and capping on foam to reduce oxygen. Not ideal, but works well enough for me.

I appreciate any and all feedback! I wonder if you’re method would work as well with a growler filler hose? I would think you could still cap on the foam, but it might minimize the amount of foam you get.
