About 4 hours for me. Are there harder trails up there? I had a lot of fun Sunday but like your signature says, it's not an adventure until someone get's stuck

I was thinking of the start being the highest road in the adirondacks ( Whiteface Memorial Highway) then head south and explore some dirt roads (mtn passes) along the way. I'm still researching where to go from the top of the ADK. Any suggestions?

We should have asked that lady if she knew any other roads we shouldn't drive down.

I am working in Placid this week. I could do some recon if need be. Keene Valley may have some decent trails and is only 14 miles from Placid let me know.

There's a fee $$$ for the Whiteface Mountain Highway ..... It's $15 for the vehicle and driver + an additional $15 if you have one passenger or $25 for two - five more passengers .

Also as far as wheeling in the Adirondack Park . That's a BIG NEGATIVE !! Unless you are on private land or a " road " that is open to vehicles it is VERY ILLEGAL to be driving offroad on state land .

I know about the legal issues, but if you look hard enough there are places hidden around that are decent adventures. If we get 20+ people we can get a better rate at whiteface.

Id rather setup a day at Mettowee and only worry about getting stuck or broken.

@adk_tacoma you’re only about 15 miles from me...we should sit down with a Gazetteer and pull together a route. I had one pretty dialed for early summer but global pandemic so...
@pmstoy10 has some good beta to add too, I’d still be interested in helping to plan, and it can be in addition to a day at Mettawee off-road park.

How far are the Pine Barrens from y'all?

I would 100% up for a Mettowee trip too though. Up by Lake George o my girlfriend and I could make a weekend out of it

My family has owned a place on lower Lincoln Pond for 3 generations now . You used to be able to drive completely around the lower pond . I'm not sure if you still are able to or not , but that is a decent little dirt run you can do with a stock truck .
