This is why I'm counting the days until im out of Illinois (move on 9/15) and cannot wait for my house to sell after that. They just tax you for EVREYTHING and piss the money away. I was cringing having to fill out both Illinois and North Carolina tax forms today for my new job....

Now I'll have some income coming in, time to start investing again.

 

I will say. The roads (highways) out that way are used and abused constantly by big rigs. But they’re in great shape. Michigan was a disaster, coming from New England Michigan was a shit hole for road conditions. Really showed me how much of an effect the thermal cycling and salt and plow drags have on roads.

 

I’ll never invest again. I’ve been buying aapl for years and it’s nearly back to the price I started at.

 

Wait, so you quadrupled your AAPL money?

 

No, my avg was just a little under 200. Christmas of 2015 I got advice to invest 1000 in a company I believed in. I partially listened and bought 5 shares. Then added 5 more every couple months until it got too pricey. Basically have added about 3k in aapl every year, with this current year the exception. It just ran up too fast after the drop. But I suppose my first year shares are up about 5x. And I clearly should have bought when they were 300 or 350 this year, but I just couldn’t add when they went over 250. I didn’t see that 500 price coming.

 

So the question is, is anyone in aapl long and adding at these prices? If not, where would it drop to make it attractive to add to your position? I won’t see the 250 equivalent again, that would be 60. But can anyone see 80 in play? That’s a pretty steep decline, but also where it was trading just 3 months ago.

 

I doubt we'll see it sub $100. I'll add some when I go back to work and can't trade all day in my IRA. Currently, I'm doing way to well to sit on any stocks. Other then NVDA of course. lol

 

Maybe keep an eye on its P/E. I know it justifies a higher rating now, but it’s really high. Instead of watching share price, maybe a sub 20 P/E indicates it’s time to load up again.

 

That’s a good point, I’m just wondering if it’s just going to be stuck in this enthusiastic value bubble that keeps floating away from me. Seems to me it’s trading where it should be in 5 years. Maybe I blew it by investing in other things making short term gains while thinking I’ll just buy aapl again when it’s near 250.

I think you’re right and it will, so I’ll buy here and there, not thrilled about it. If I see that big drop, which I expect at some point, I’ll dump a bunch into it.

No, that’s always the problem. What I end up doing is borrowing from my savings (that shouldn’t be spent) when the opportunities come. I owed myself like $10k in March haha.

 

Gotcha. If you did I was going to suggest selling cash covered puts at the price you'd like to buy at. That way you get paid while you wait for the drop. lol

I hope INO pops tomorrow. And TOL. And if NVDA also jumps again that would be a plus. Oh, and I picked up some HRB $14 Sept calls because they release earnings tomorrow after the bell. If all those things happen I'll be taking the rest of the week off. They won't though so I'm prepared to loose even more money. lol
