I always wanted a Tacoma and at the end of July I bought a 2004 3.4 6cyl 4x4 double cab Tacoma! It’s my first vehicle purchase after having my little Nissan hatchback for 10 yrs. I bought a Leer 100XQ for cheap but has a broken side window and Leer doesn’t make it anymore so I have to figure something out to replace it.

I’ve been lurking since the check engine light came on a week after getting it then been troubleshooting an acceleration issue I noticed intermittently happening. It has 265k miles so making sure it’s cleaned up and maintained is a priority and this truck is a great to learn on!

I have no car work experience but thanks to you all I’ve since changed the spark plugs and wires, cleaned the MAF, took off the throttle body and cleaned it out (realized I didn’t clean I IAC and then also found out this year doesn’t have it but I still need to take it off again and clean under that detachable plate and replace the tb gasket). It’s now running a lot better and accelerating smooth.

Long story short thanks and love being a Tacoma owner!
