I know the Toyota will beat the Jeep in handling and road noise, but after buying my wife a Mercedes E350 and not being able to spend more than 20 minutes in it, I know how that seat comfort can just ruin the whole experience. Nice thing is I get a corporate gas card so that's not even a consideration.

Sounds like it’s time for a big V8

This is not a good time to shop for any new vehicles that are in high demand.
Inventories are at an all time low due to extended closures of manufacturers
    Good luck.

My choices boiled down to this:. There are only two vehicles on the market that have both a pickup bed (just need a small one) and three pedals. It's just a matter of deciding between the two.

Ha!! I needed that this morning. Dogs rule.

To the OP...just don't get a red one and try and blow my doors off. Even if you try and show off in front of your GF. Just won't work for you. :D

181838.jpg Assuming you have actually found a 2020 Tacoma MT to compare your second choice to?

You can't go by dealerships. Email their internet team and it'll become clear quickly which one you want to deal with. They're very active in getting back to you and cut out a lot of the bullshit when they know you're serious.

Hate to say it, but if you're pulling 30 hours of windshield time, get an F150. That's what the company I work for issues to the sales team and they all love it. It's hard to beat one for long term comfort or versatility. Pick a client up at the mine/plant/factory whatever, take them to dinner in town. It's quiet enough to discuss business at highway speeds. It's much more difficult to hash details over the wind noise of a taco, or worse, a Jeep.

Then get yourself a three pedal toy for the weekends.

If your choices are limited to Aisin or Borg-Warner that's a hard one.

That's the smart choice. I do love the interior of the new Ram. But it's more truck than I need and more money than I have. I currently have a Silverado and it's been great. F150 is probably the last one I'd consider. But, once I buy a new truck (ANY new truck) the funds for a weekend toy are gone. I should just drop $5-6k to patch together my Silverado for a few more years and get a Cayman or Elise.

If you tape the holes in the 3rd gen front end the Okarina goes away.
Jeeps gotta howl at 55+ no matter what. Fold up aluminum Ferds?

If long term dependability is a factor, go with the Tacoma. So far I have 3 Tacomas, soon 4 most likely and about 750k+ miles between them; so far, no major repairs. I have had Jeeps, dependability was a factor that I did not like. Only reliable Jeep I still have is a 70s CJ5 Jeep Renegade.

Resale... well, sure the Jeep in 5 years might be good resale, think about 10 years though, will they hold resale value the same? Likely Toyota will come up top. I can still sell my 2006's for plenty cash. Then again, where I live no one cares about Blue Book value for Tacomas, they are as good as money in the bank and sell for higher.

If you want/need a small pickup, go with the Tacoma, if size don't matter and you will be in the road so much, get something bigger.

I used a broker for my truck. Took a lot of the pain of searching out of the picture and actually gave me a better deal than a dealership was offering.

I contacted both Koons/tyson toyota and Laurel carmax. They both advertising good prices months ago. tysons were only looking to sell what is on the lot or coming in soon. They wanted me to come in from PA talk with them and didn't seem to want to wheel and deal by email with me.
Laurel just was sold out and never seemed like anything was in stock after may

I had good luck with Bill Kidd's Toyota in cockeysville Md once I emailed Mike Thornton directly.
They worked to get me a truck.
