I would like to put a feeler out there to see how many people would like to do a group run up Manastash.

I figure around 5-6 trucks, and do about a 20 mile loop. Going from easy - moderate, depending on if it’s wet there may be a spot or two that would be a brief challenge. I would say the only thing you need at a minimum would be sliders (definitely if your a long bed), and maybe skids plates. Heres a screen capture of the track starting at the lower orange dot going up to and following the blue track.

Basically this starts at the wenas on green dot roads and ends up on jeep trails. So as the day progresses its get harder. Depending on how the group does and if we have enough time there's other trails that fork off of last bit of the trail that we can take that would extend the trip. (i haven't taken all of them before) trail layout looks like:

    1) Green Dot Roads
    2) Lower Summit Trail
    3) Moon Rocks
    4) Tripod Flats

    Optional depending on time

    5) Shoestring
    6) Lost Lake

There’s some fun little climbs and ledges to get some cool pics on from time to time.

You’ll definitely get pinstripes! If its raining hard, there could be spots depending on driver skill you could get body damage. (Its almost a month out so no clue on weather)

I know a lot of you are on the west side so if we did it on a Saturday, if you wanted to come this way on Friday I have 3 acres you can camp at my place which is only a couple miles from the start or if you don't want to stay at my place DM me and i'll tell you where you can camp and we can meet you at the start.

I'm putting the following date out as a feeler, i figured if we do its the last weekend of the month gives everyone enough time to make plans. I figured we could meet at super 1 in ellensburg and everyone can top off of fuel and food.

    Dates: September 26th 2020 9:00am

    1) @BrashBrusier (confirmed)
    2) @WrecklessAbandon
    3) @Lost In The Woods
    4) @Shadowhunter (confirmed)
    5) @Usethe2nd
    6)

    Maybe
    1) @rlx02
    2) @bobsuruncle
    3) @SalmonTaco
    4) @heybronicetacoma

If anyone else is interested let me know but i would like to try and keep this smallish because of the length and there's not a ton of room if you meet people in some places to get around.

On a side note: I noticed a new fire burning near that area from my house and not 100% on trail closures at this time. So looks like the fire is close to the starting point at this time i don't see any closures but will keep ya posted.

I'll add ya to the list.

It looks like the fire is around Evans Canyon so i don't think that should shut anything down.

Yeah I’m still over here in Naches. Trip into the hills would be great. Still gotta get my sliders welded on though.

I was watching that fire from my house last night, massive smoke cloud coming over Mt Clemans was intense. Wife got some good pics.

Welp the fire jumped the ridge so i'm pretty sure our access to the lower starting point is now closed. Might have to do a different route. I'll let ya know.

    Edit: its closed for sure.

Fire is cranking hard right now, I’m sitting outside watching planes drop load after load of chemical retardant.

I was planning to camp by rim rock lake this weekend. Where can I check fire maps? Also, do you know if the lakes water level is still wayyy down?

    Google map of evac area

Yakima Valley Emergency Management has a map of the fire itself on their Facebook page

Rimrock should be fine, its pretty far from the fire and the wind is blowing the smoke the other direction. The water level seemed fine to me when I drove up around Clear Lake and Rimrock a couple weeks ago. The boat ramps are free because of covid. The bummer was that the whole area was absolutely trashed - shitloads of garbage, TP and turds everywhere, crazy fuckers that have been camped out since the 'rona hit.
