That was one of my top reasons to cancel it. I don't want to hear useless djs, just music. It was also supposed to be commercial free but as it went on they kept adding more and more.

After the 3 month trial ended on our 2019 Highlander and OR I simply called to cancel, they offered $30 for six months of each, do I re-upped. Did this twice, now I find the option on their website for my account to get a year for $59. We both like XM and have half a dozen stations that are far better than the crap on Pittsburgh radio. I live on the Phish, NHL, Fox News, classic Vinyl and DMB channels. Wife likes her country and hair nation. I have Apple Music too, but the blue tooth audio connection is a pain in the arse without having Apple Car Play.

I did the free trial and found a couple interesting stations, but not worth the $20+/month. Told them to disco, but I eventually got a subscription at $5/month. Now that is about to renew at $20+/month.

I went on the web site, brought up my account, and selected "cancel". I was taken to a screen where I could continue the $5/month deal.

I'm also pondering the economics of having Apple Play and Unlimited Phone Data so I just play everything through my phone. It doesn't seem viable though from a cost perspective.

From what I’m hearing the cost pet month is all about ver the place. If they can offer $5 to one that should be what the charge all.
In the industry I retired from they did the same thing. The same chemical had a price range per pound that varied as much as 90%. Salesmen would offer free this or that and other incentives. Then come up with a totally bogus ROI (return on investment) to convince weak minded folks they were getting something for nothing.
I got and maintained customers by telling them the actual cost of goods and services. The folks who thought they were getting a killer deal ended up paying much more in “add on services”.

I shut them down real quick. I always tell them before they get to far. I ask them if they'll do a lifetime membership. They use to have that but not anymore. I tell them I just want a one time fee and I don't wanna pay monthly. I know you don't have that anymore, talk to who you have and let me know. They always get off the phone very fast. I want the God dang lifetime membership. Lol

On my Sienna a few years ago, I was able to get 1 free year. Every time the trial period ended they would call and I'd tell them I want to cancel. Each time they would extend it for 3 months free. After a year, I just told them to cut it off cause we didn't use it. I didn' want to have to deal with them every 3 months.

The dance has begun! My free trial ended last night, so I got a phone call today. $16.99 plus fees for "All Access." Not even close enough. $8.99 for streaming only and I suggested he call me back tomorrow with a real offer.

Yeah, hold out. They WILL offer you the deal of $5 a month for a year of service. Plenty of people on here will attest to that.

That’s close what I’ve got right now. 5.83 a month for a year. I really like it. Not much radio up here and having all that selection is pretty fun. I may cancel next August if I don’t get something similar.

My free trial ended in August and I renewed for $5 a month for one year and a free Echo Dot. I didn't need the Echo Dot, but it was free. As for the XM, for $5 a month it's worth it since I drive in and out of FM signals frequently. At times all I get is Spanish music channels.

Is that $5.00/month for streaming, the radio in your truck, or some combination? Also, are there any "fees" or is it a flat $5.00

It is $4.99 + $1.07 in taxes/royalty fees, so the total is $6.06 per month. It includes the radio in the truck plus streaming via the app or web browser as well.

That's the deal I want! Although I like the app better than hardware in the Tacoma. More flexibility. I can always tell them that I can get Pandora for $5.00/month with no add on fees.

If the programming didn't suck, they might have less problems. Pandora FTW. Even if out of service, the offline stuff is good.

My quote for that $5 a month was for all access on the radio as well as other device, such as SiriusXM on Roku. However I actually tried looking at SiriusXM on Roku, and it is only a radio signal and not video, so I pretty much thought that was worthless. But so many people on here get the same offer of $5 a month, so I would hold out for that. I STILL get snailmails from them offering me that deal. It all depends on how much you drive your vehicle, WHERE you drive it, and if it is worth it to you, which is a highly subjective thing, to pay ANYTHING for satellite radio. If I was a truck driver, I would very much think it was worth it because the signal is pretty much constant, unlike local FM stations which usually last about an hour or so if you are traveling, before you run out of range. But for me, I only drive locally, and very rarely even turn on the radio, so it wasn't worth paying anything, to me. Now, I have a neighbor, who loves country music, but there are no country music stations around here, so he pays for Sirius because it has several country channels, so for him, it is worth it. As I said, it is a highly subjective thing as to whether paying ANYTHING for satellite is worth it, and then, How Much.
