Same. Don’t clean stuff with bleach in your house.

I grew up on septic too but didn't really pay much attention as a kid. Just the first house we have owned with septic.

I'd make sure to get a rider on the home insurance "Limited water backup and Sump Overflow" on your new homeowners policy. Basically provides limited coverage in the event you have a backup from septic

interesting....any other coverage, that isn't well know I should speak to my agent about adding?

We've had one for $5M since we moved in. Cost $185 a year, well worth it in the event some shit happens.

Between the lake and pool it would give us some peace of mind. Plus I don't want to be targeted, shit like that happens.

$185 a year for $5M is cheap as hell. Who are you insured with if you don't mind me asking? $1M with my company for 2 cars and a house is $200 a year.

I'd personally recommend sitting down with your agent if you haven't recently, or I'm happy to review for you as an independent 3rd party. I'd make sure you're aware of what's covered, what isn't and what opportunities you can grow into (IE, increasing personal liability, making sure you've got proper coverage for jewelry and firearms)

I wouldn't be surprised if they required you to get flood insurance of some sort, based on the photo. Typically the bank wants to see that in the even you're on the water, or likely to suffer a flood. There's a few different companies that offer it. Worst case, you could go through FEMA for it, but I'd explore the other options first.

It's high up out of the flood plane. 6 out of 10 on the FEMA flood thingy.

I'm with Liberty Mutual and have a discount through work. But if you think you can beat their rates I'd let you run some quotes.

Beautiful! Sadly, it'll be up to the lender on if they require it. You might be ok if you're 6 out of 10, but each company has their own MO when it comes to how the determine/require that

Farm Bureau is usually VERY difficult to beat when it comes to home insurance, and we're usually competitive on the auto side. You on the NC side of Steele Creek?
