No point, I focked up which BKill already pointed out. I knew it was a Toyota just messed up in my description. I did see one of those Toyota GT2000’s in San Diego years ago though.

I'm assuming you mean other than the fact that it's a custom conversion?

Other than the fact that it didn’t come from the factory? Unless of course, GM built a 57 Ute in Australia. Growing up in the 60s I remember seeing several 55-57 Chevy conversions. The ones I remember all started life as a station wagon. Some of them were surprisingly well done.

That 3rd seat was an option, a copy of the same available on the 230/250/280 SL Mercedes of the time. Drove a 280SL for a while

Someone mentioned the 240Z. Did you know you can get 6 large Airmen in one for a trip to a local mountain lake. Alcohol helps.

I asked it two pages back without a response, so yes you both are correct, the fact that the factory didn’t make an El Camino in 1957. I saw it driving through a parking lot from a distance and knew right off it was a conversation. He parked so I went up and picked his brain on it. He took a 57’ Nomad and grafted on a early 60’s truck cab. Something the factory should have done in 1957. Granted the 1959 and 60 El Camino is one of the best designs ever a 57 would have been as well.

I hate to be “that guy”, but somebody has to, lol. I’m quite sure he started with standard wagon. Nomads used the doors from a 2 dr. hardtop, which meant the windows were frameless. This vehicle definitely has window frames. Chevy made a 2 dr. wagon, so he might have started with that, but (although it’s hard to tell at the angles of each photo) the doors look a little short and it could have started life as a 4 dr. wagon. The thing that impresses me is how finished everything looks. The chrome trim around the top of the bed looks like it’s one piece. Nicely done. I actually drove a 55 Chevy 4 dr. wagon my last year in college. I always dreamed about turning it into an El Camino.

Be that guy, I know that era of Chevys but not that detailed. I was on a limited time frame while he was explaining it to me, and a bit in awe really. So cool, and wish Chevy had did that in 57.

I'll likely leave my side moldings on but they are SO hard to get perfectly aligned I am almost liking the "naked" side look here.

I’m pretty bad at posting and replying, I don’t get on here much. But here’s a ‘54 Bel Air that I’m cutting on today. It’s gonna end up laying frame on 20”s.
