Has anyone put the new grille on yet? I'm looking to see what the TSS looks like in the new design.

Can't wait to see it. They are clean..

It's pretty straight forward. You won't need anything else like an extension harness or relocation bracket, ect. You'll be all set with the hardware kit straight out of the box. Just follow the install guide. All you're basically doing is taking off the sensor and remounting it onto the X-Trek Grille Mounting bracket.

I actually got them all shipped out yesterday and am waiting to get the tracking number back from my third party shipping company I use.

I'll be sure to send out the tracking numbers asap but they should be in the mail by now.

delivered yesterday. black trim piece should be here later this week, so if I can find time I'll make the swap this weekend. first mod on my first taco!

    e. looking through all the instructions finally, and i see that the mesh is secured by screwing the "self-tapping screws and washers ... into the grille surround"
there wasn't any hardware in the kit i received, so do you have a suggestion for screw/washer size? if not, i will just make-do

Awesome, can't wait to see it installed! Stoked to be your first mod on your first Tacoma!

Yes you should have gotten some screws and washers included in the box with the mesh. They are very easy to throw away and get lost in the plastic wrapping. Going forward I will be bagging everything in one bag so it won't be so easy to get lost. I'd double check the packaging and plastic wrap to make sure it didn't get thrown away. If not I'll mail you out one but all the hardware for the mesh is literally just four washers and four screws if you have some around your house/garage maybe you can make it work.

There are 3 pegs on the back of the emblem. Each peg has a little cross at the base of it that sticks up approx .5 cm off the emblem. I dremeled off the little crosses and then marked the the center peg on the grille. I drilled the hole for the center peg a little big to allow me the ability to really get the position right when I marked the other two holes. Next I drilled the other two holes. It needed to go a little left so I opened the holes a bit more. I took it off, put some jb weld on the back of the emblem and held the emblem in place for 5 minutes. Then I flipped it over and poured a metric ass ton of epoxy all over the pegs.

i'll look for them tomorrow. if they were just thrown in there loose, then yeah i guess they would be easy to miss. i have washers and self-tapping screws if i cant find them

this is great. thanks for the detailed breakdown, i will definitely be doing the same thing.
looks like you squared the bottom of the letters with the bottom of the grille blank, and they poke over the top a little because they are just slightly taller than the blank. i kinda like that look better than centered true

didnt have time over the long weekend to put the grille on yet, but have the black trim piece in hand now. also found the screws (sorry @watkins303 )

i did have a question though - since the grill is just black plastic, should these be painted? any concerns with UV fading or cracking or anything else?

Haven't had any fading issues with mine, and I've had it on the truck for a couple years.

Just some photos to motivate y'all to install your grilles. Had mine for a couple years now and still think it's the best looking option out there.

The way it matches the bottom portion of the front is a wonder how toyota dropped the ball on that one!

Not the best photo but finally installed it. I haven’t recalibrated the sensor and the light comes on every so often. If it becomes an issue I’ll take it to get recalibrated. Any dealership recommendation that wouldn’t give me

I’ve also thought of putting the TACOMA emblem on it but not sure.

I like the idea of the door emblem. Although, do you foresee issues keeping it attached long term?
