It's honestly the first time I've ever been tempted to exercise a call..

Everyone needs cyber security and I think these ransomware attacks with all the remoteing into work put you at risk so you need secure cloud data backup

 

So do you just need to maintain $25K in assets to daytrade options? Because I was wondering what the limits on that are...There's been MANY times I thought "I'd like to close this now, and buy it back later today on a dip"....

If you thinks it's a solid long term play, which it probably is, exercise it. Then right OTM covered calls on it. It's a prety good strategy.

My NVDA $560 covered calls have a pretty good chance of being assigned this week. I'll know for sure Friday. I kept 2 NVDA Sept $515 calls just in case that happens. It's a stock I don't ever plan to not have shares of. Selling covered's then getting them back with calls has been working out very well. There's always profit in that trade both ways. lol

 

Exactly. A minimum of 25K needs to be in the account. E-Trade uses the previous days ending balance. So, technically, you could go below 25K intraday as long as you finish above 25K. I doubt I'll do it every day but when there's these big swings in a defined zone it's money. Using the MACD I was able to hit everyone almost dead on.

 

Now imagine if you wrote a program to execute those trades for you...and then you leased a server connected to a 100gig fiber line...To get the quotes just a bit faster...

So many people already doing that. With degrees from Harvard and MIT. Buying and holding SPY beats most of them if that’s your goal.

Yep. I can roll that $560 covered and sell the $515 calls or I can just roll the covered out and up. I've got about an hour after market opens to decide.

$115 sep18 ...bought when the stock was $111 for $700 on 8/20

 

Geez...the AZN Vaccine is all over the news and it's more durable than the MRNA...but dead in the water stock....

 

Oh, and heads up...I know that labor day really is meaningless because nobody does anything right now...and there's already no school..and we've cancelled our annual Nantucket trip for a land side isolated retreat...but Labor day is being pre-blamed for a surge...ugggh...none of the OTHER things happening daily are an issue...but Labor day "parties" are going to do us in...

I dunno, there's an element of truth to it. Hey, we haven't had any parties all summer, we're getting Q-tine fatigue, let's hit it! I know we're doing a family thing over the weekend, I'm sure there are plenty of other families in the same boat - we haven't done anything all summer, and this is the "unofficial" end of the summer, so let's at least have something.

Will we see a surge? Probably. Will we see a massive wave of death and despair sweep through the country?

Those 2 NVDA Sept 4 $560 covered calls are now 2 NVDA Oct $620 covered calls. I got paid $997 bucks to move them out and up. That should keep them safe for a bit. lol

 

But seriously, this thing has to reverse split or die eventually no?

 

If you bought at $2.58 today you're up 8% right now...
