Y'all wanna do Gram shit, go do Gram shit. Not hate, just saying.

I didn't enjoy beating on my truck, but I did. I don't wanna catch hell for someone making their own bad decision.

I'm only changing mine because they're beginning to seize with my outers. You should carry an inner too. Didn't @TRDZILA bend one on a trail a few months back and have to make a run to an auto store?

We need to get some GMRS licenses and push 50w.....or everyone else just needs to be a HAM.

Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.
Napa, but it takes a day to get the inners. It takes everyone a day or two to get the 2nd gen inners.

Yep. Looks like they took the hinge off the back bumper for the license plate. Someone is going to be in for a surprise when they realize they needed that thing. Also those bedside decals look like shit. 10/10 would delete.

What were they asking for it? One of you should buy it.

After they gave me full book value for it, the dealer spent all their own money completely respraying it. I bet they still didn't get all the LBL mud out tho.

Rush was an humbling experience. I guess I’d gotten a pretty big head because I think I’ve got just about the coolest Tacoma in Kokomo, but hearing how many times I hit my skids and sliders compared to everyone else brought me back down to earth.
Also, I admit I had a pretty low opinion of the 3rd gens but I was impressed with how they performed once I seen them in action.

The only real difference in motion between a 2nd and 3rd gen is our gearing makes low end torque pretty much non-existent, so we may end up shifting to 4L faster than you guys. Once that's on, they're basically the same truck.

And third gen rear bumpers are trash.

Still can't believe they did all that man!

They don't mention the wheels, tires, or armor! Or the front camera.
Wonder how they addressed the hole in the bumper for the antenna?

I think it was on a hinge to flip up and use the receiver

lol they have it listed as a 'Sport.'

They're also selling it for a grand more than I paid for it new. WHO SAYS MODS DONT ADD VALUE TO YOUR TRUCK!

There was a bracket covering the receiver (which is in the rear bumper on the RCI) that you put the plate on. It was spring loaded so you could flip it up and still access the receiver.

Without that, to put your plate on, you have to make the receiver unusable without taking the plate completely off.

@Jibbs - i gained a bit more confidence than i had before. The rig did great. did some belly slides on my skids. I regret nothing!
I'm happy to be the homie that takes one for the team to try and do an easy run. But i'll need some navigation help haha.

I carry both inner and outer with me

Roger. I'll just keep them for trail replacements - agreed on the license. I operate on i think 8watts and it usually carries a couple miles, but i don't have my license. Too lazy! I'll get around to it

Dude welcome to offroading. I had a big head too until i ran into a mud hole that cost me $3k lol. It takes one experience to become humble. Just know your limits.
