2016 OVTune Tacoma 3.5L Manual Transmission / Engine ECU Reflash

Just tuned my tacoma to 93 Prem Fob today!

I can confirm that it works when you have Boot Camp assistant on your macbook which i used to flash the tune on my Tacoma. It works great!

 

I’ve been running 2.0 SFOB REG since it came out on 04b14 and haven’t looked back at this thread ever since - anything crucial that I’ve missed? Any updates I need with the tune?

I’ve got some credits burning a hole in my vF tuner and would like to unlock 04A71 ECU so I can tune my friends 2018 MT. Who is willing to share some 2.0 VFT files for 04A71? Looking to get a-la-cart tunes vs. entire tune pack. Just the greatest hits.

PM me with details. Willing to trade 04B04 2.0 VFT tunes for 04A71’s if anyone else is unlocking multiple ECU’s and wants those files. Then we both can tune multiple ECU’s assuming you have the credits to unlock them. Let’s make a deal...

 

does anyone have the file description of all the maps included in the taco tune pack? i dont really know what im missing out on.

 

Obviously as more 04B04 AT tunes are released I’d be willing to add them to the trade. I can’t trade what I don’t yet have. There are nearly 40 versions of the 2.0 final released in vft for 04B04 for different tire and gear setups.

if anyone has an offer let’s talk. Really all I would like are the regular and premium SFOB tunes for the MT or whatever the preferred performance tunes are for the MT.

 

Not much? Since you don't have Dump Tubes, just ignore those. From my knot hole, the rest are just picking throttle response. I think you're on SFOB Prem? From there, it goes from crisp to sedate while losing no driveability.

This is my take on throttle response. I believe others have found the same?

Base running 87 < Base running 91 / 92 / 93 / 94 << SFOB running 87 < SFOB running 91 / 92 / 93 / 94


That basically covers all the MT tune choices.

If you want to see what the feelz are, just flash up. SFOB Prem will be there and give you the same fun when you want to go back to it.

While we are on the topic, My tuck is 04A71. I bought OVtune flash tuner way back when, then I bought the vFT program for previous OVflash tune, I thought that came with the a tune pack?

Like I would be able to get the files for my truck without buying the taco tune pack. Did I miss something?

 

You just need to message zendesk and request the tune pack.

Be easy on me please. I have a 2020 6mt tacoma that I bought in February. not long after I bought the license only as I have the orange box with the cable from my 2018 automatic. I am just getting ready to install 2.0 now due to computer issues. I can not seem to find an explanation of each tune version on OV tune site. any help appreciated. thank you

So at this point, if you want to buy and install the OV developed tune, you need to buy the VF Software and cables and the Tacoma Tune Pack add on?

So I did a thing.... went from a 17 AT to a 20 MT. Loving being in control of the gears again and away from the schizophrenic AT. So my question for yall is is there anything special I need to do to get this truck tuned. I know the ecu id will be different but do I need to let Mat know it has changed to be able to flash this truck or do I just identify the ecu and download the files for that id?
